HOW TO PROFESSIONALLY CARPET A PLY PANEL

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Learn how to professionally carpet a ply panel, with 4-way stretch carpet and then fit it to your camper.
The van in this episode is a short wheel base Mk 6 Ford Transit. We had previously carried out a 'Day Van' conversion to this van and the sliding door panel was the last part to be completed.

Hi from 'up North' Great videos. Newly subbed. Ha ha just mistyped dubbed ! Really generous of you to share your insights. Also well made and presented so easy to follow with just the right amount of detail. I watch a lot of these videos and yours are some of the best. At 1st I wondered if it was wise for you to share so much that allows owners to do it themselves but after watching I reckon you'll gain many more customers than lose to DIY enthusiasts. You come across as a very genuine and knowledgeable builder who takes care in his work. Good stuff this camper business. Happy travels everyone. John

Hey guys! Awesome vid thanks for the help! What would you suggest doing to the non-carpeted bits of the van in this instance?? Ie your ply lining is carpeted, but for example the pillars (or portions of the pillars) won’t be... should I carpet the pillars separately and just butt the carpeted ply lining against them if that makes sense?? Cheers

Hi Steven, thanks for your comments. I would suggest marking where the rubber meets the metal work of the door frame and carpeting to that line I've found it best to just cut a nice clean edge using a new sharp blade and glueing up to the edge for a nice clean look

Is it possible to use plastic fasteners (with a flat profile head) and put them behind the carpet? That's what I'm going to look at trying. Then I get the best of both worlds, a nice clean finish and also access if needed in the future. Just need to see if the carpet will cover the plastic clips and not have little bumps visible!

I am sorry to say your videos annoy me and make them not worth watching; because your speaking is quiet and the music you keep inserting is way too loud making it necessary to frequently adjust the volume. From what I have seen you probably give good information but if you cannot sort that wild variation of volumes I cannot be bothered wasting my time watching them.
