What happens when the dock cleats don't line up with your boat cleats? Or they are too far away for the stick to reach? How do they stop the forward/backward movement for docks with a parallel current? Or docks with taller cleats than your boat's cleats? I really like this concept, but it doesn't seem as universal as some rope and a gunnel bumper, or sticks that could be adjustable in length somehow, for those docks with less than ideal cleat placements. Inexpensive gunnel bumpers can be made from old gym mats and canvas by anyone with a little sewing prowess. Maybe under $20 to make and they seem to be far more adaptable to variables than these... however I would love to be wrong and educated on my ignorance. Thanks for the video and information fellas.

Sorry for the late reply Kevin. There are some docks that you will not be able to use the dock sticks on. For me, going out of PP 90% of the time, they are a great product. If you launch from lots of new ramps I would make sure to bring standard bumpers.

I understand that it's supposed to keep it away from the dock, but if the waves are coming from forwarder aft the rods will just push forward or aft collapsing your boat closer to THE stop it from doing that and then rubbing, thank you.

Do these Dock sticks work better on pontoon boats or will they work as good on a lund Tyree ?

Sounds great if the dock cleats line up with the cleats on your boat. Typically they don’t. I guess one end is better than none.

Yopu're right Eric. I like the sticks if you know your dock and you tend to launch at the same dock, For me, at PP there great. For someone launching at multiple locations maybe not so good. One thing for sure, they always look great.

Still would need some bumps in the middle if the boat pushes forward or backwards, guess you still need some rope to tie on front and back off boat to pull the movement out. ?

I have used mine but the dock ties need to be at the right spacing and elevation. I am lucky, the dock at PP is a good fit for my boat so they work great for me but I have been at other docks that the sticks did not work.

Tried to order some, website just shows dots loading under the description of what they offer… Tried getting there thru website, Facebook, and same result each time. Frustrating because this is a fantastic product from what I can tell.

Hey Mike, scuff marks are definitely annoying. Scratches/scrapes/dents from exposed nails/screws are even worse. If only there was something out there that could help prevent our boat from banging up against the dock? 🤔😂 please let us know if we can help.

My gunwales are 4 feet above the dock. I expect these would be useless in that application.
