Hmm, someone could copy the bitting of that key and steal Uncle Bumblefuck's John Deere. I wouldn't recommend it though, you'd end up owning a John Deere.

As a diesel mechanic watching this and knowing how many magnetic lights I've melted on aftertreatments and lost on highways under trucks. It's now extremely tempting to try losing my keys to the sanity ride home.

@NIB127 the aftertreatment one was still there when I went back. Looked like a fudge pop in the sun. I found one light that came back. Rode around for 2 months stuck to the frame.

I have an all aluminum piston keychain that I found in a bag from my dad’s last car show, days before he passed away. It’s one of my most prized possessions now and is attached to the keys of his 70 Mach 1

It's the new improved version of the pocket driver! The geeezless tool that attaches itself to every ferrous surface around you, slipping out of the pocket sticking 5o fenders, lifts, & parts carried in the arms. Those pistons *ARE* absolutely adorable 😍... I feel my feminine urge to buy kicking in.

Hell, I just bought one of everything, Ive been laughing at this stuff for months now, you are my favorite YTer by far AvE and not just because I used to run CNC like a mofo back in the 90s, its your all around demeanor and your impressive catalog of knowledge, you would make for one fine neighbor and thats saying something in my book. Id love to see an hour long fireside chat where you share with us your upbringing, how you got your motivation to learn and whether there were mentors involved or you just went and did it on your own. Id drink a beer or three to hear that story.

Also really good for wiping your credit cards when the keys go in your pocket with your wallet 👌🏽

@@twin19692 yeah, I think the old magnetic strips had unacceptable emissions standards.

I bought 2 of these and got them a few days ago. They are smaller than I thought but the magnets are stronger (for their size) than I expected. I have a larger N52 magnet on my keychain already and wanted to replace it with this neat little toy. It's much smaller, but strong enough to do the job!

I also have magnets on my keys. I use them as a 'fidget toy' pulling keys apart and allowing magic to snap them back together.

Peed on the fridge door. Now my wife is mad. Instructions unclear.

Like the magnet idea for car keys. If you don't want to carry your keys in your pocket for whatever reason when you park at an event or whatever, just reach up and under and stick the keys to the inside of one of the frame rails. Might even be there when I get back from my kayak trip.

Not a bad idea. Depending on the type of kayaking you do, you're car will be in the middle of nowhere with very few/no people passing as well.

That's awesome! Just an idea how about a machined wall mountable plate so you can hang your keys by the door? My current keychains are 1/4" audio jacks and the holder looks like a Marshall amp head lol... but those are tempting!

There is a building code in a ton of places that state the garage entry door must be fire rated which means you either have a solid wood door or a steel door. Having your keys mounted to the door itself is actually very convenient and as long as you don't exceed the depth of the door handle, it also doesn't tend to cause any problems with how wide the door can open in most cases.

I am luckily enough to have my pencil axe, magno pistone and tiny stickers. All well recieved. Thanks Ave and party unseen.

I just got mine in the mail. The better 3/4 claimed half the pistons for the fridge because "they're neat" and "way stronger than mine" so I'm left with two for the toolbox and the little keychain. 11/10 with rice, would recommend the purchase. Also got some stickers that are way too nice to waste on my hard hat.

I can totally see someone dropping their keys in the shop, and instead of taking the broom under the work bench to retrieve them, having to inspect every crevice to see where they attached to! :P Definitely worth a laugh or two at a friend's expense! Same here. I switched over to aluminum magnets and haven't had any issues since.

I have an old 3" twist off bit container that sits on my desk. The twisty caps are the the original fidget spinner.

I tried throwing these in my trucks intake to replace the pistons and now have a compression issue.

Sorely tempted. I'd have to have a whole separate set of keys for it. Only got the one set and I wonder how much that magnet will play with the anti-theft of the key.

I think that last bit is Morse Code for "Focus, you fack!"
