A total utter respect to this lovely guy.

This poor father will never be able to shake off the trauma of losing his son in such an awful way. Day in, day out the tragedy will be with him and whilst the incarceration of his son’s murderer is a regular topic on the news and in the media his own sentence is life long. Few of us can imagine the grief he suffers.

I agree, the grief is beyond what any of us can reasonably comprehend. He'll never truly move on from it, it is probably similar to someone who has experienced the horrors of war. Unimaginable, no human should have to endure such things.

It's not necessary. Never has been. And it's flawed on an almost superficial level. And it's potentially irresponsible on the grounds that the "justification" for it could always be erroneous. And it sets a bad example, discouraging privacy for people.

I can understand that at 10 years of age he was given anonymity however, once he was released and was then found with disturbing images of child s*x**l a***e IMO he should at that point have lost his right to anonymity. He has proved twice now that he is a risk to the public and people should know who he is! It feels like authorities are colluding with him! I feel so sorry that James’ parents have to be put through this every 2 years!

If there was a way to help that poor family I would. Venables is a pure evil soul and should never be released from prison

i read ralphs book and it was haunting ..what is also haunting is who ever makes the decision to give venables a chance for parole every 2 years.there should be a law introduced for the most serious offenders to never have the chance to walk the streets again.

I feel so deeply for this man, his ex wife and their children, and their current partners. What a difficult life, but what grace they've shown in a situation that nobody can truly even comprehend.

Ralph and Denise had Michael ,Denise has 2 other sons , Ralph has children with his partner But James will.always be in their hearts.

He should now stay in for life.he’s had two chances(NOT BY THE PEOPLE OF BRITAIN)and proven what kind of person he is. Get a grip government and put an end to their pain in knowing he will never be released.

Let's never forget how terrified wee James would have been. The two responsible should still be locked up. BOTH of them.

What the justice system puts James's family through each time is nothing short of mental cruelty. Ralph is already a victim who has to endure a lifetime of grief for his murdered son. Why should he continue to be put through this ordeal? Has he not suffered enough? It's so sad I really feel heavy hearted trying to imagine what it must feel like for him on a daily basis. Ralph, your James will be very proud for all that you continue to do for him.

No matter how many times I see Ralph on Tv it never fails to strike me that he looks absolutely haunted . Lock Venebles up and throw away the key. He will forever be a danger to children.

An evil child is likely to become an evil adult. Some people are beyond rehabilitation. Ralph isn't just gonna move on (nor should he) he was robbed of his son, as all of James family were robbed of him. Torturing the family because of the "rights" of someone truly evil is sickening.

Only perverts themselves would think of letting that evil piece of S out of prison. Could they give this father a reason why they think this garbage would benefit society. If they want to release him then they should show the public what he now looks like. Why keep his identity private when they showed him at the age of 10? That would have been the time to shield both boys from the public. Now he keeps on reoffending, they want to shield him. It doesn't make sense.

Anytime this case comes up in the media, without fail I spend a whole week searching everything I can about it on the internet. Finished reading Ralphs book "My James" and "As If" by Blake Morrison yesterday. Anybody who tries to condone what these two did seriously need their heads examining. Much love to the Bulgers and the Fergusons !

I’m from the UK and living in the US for 38yrs …..Say what u want about the US but one things for sure u do something to a baby and your a child …. You will be treated as an adult and go to prison with no privileges ESPECIALLY if you’ve been let out TWICE!!!! …. The UK is a small country filled with a lot of deviants in power…. I used to write to Jimmy Saville and prayed he would come see me and thank God he didn’t!!!! And he’s was just one of MANY over there!!!

It’s the victims who suffer. Our justice system is letting the victims of crimes of this nature down, how could they live with this for their life time probably not. My children were small when this happened and my blood ran cold during this tragic time, I’ll never forget little James and his family, it tore their family apart.

I have worked in a forensic closed ward for several yeara, I can assure you, hardly anyone is rehabilitated and pure evil exists

Why is he even being considered for release every two years, he's been recalled twice now.. it's obvious his mindset hasn't changed.

Snap! I was 9 years 3 months old at the time of James Bulger's untimely murder. This kind of behaviour from any child of this age, 9, 10 years old, wouldn't have crossed my mind, entered my imagination or dreams, daydreams or anything of the kind. The majority of children of this age would know murder is the worst possible crime known to man in any way shape or form for any reason and it will only result in very heavy penalties, jail time here, but with the death penalty or other forms of corporal punishment dependent on where it occured and where the perpetrators are residing in the rest of the world at the time of the crime.

That kid never was sorry for what he did. He laughed about it to other prisoners.

Omg I hope that sexual predator never gets out! I was 16 years old watching that on TV and I thought at the time that boy is pure evil.

I'm actually more concerned about Thompson.. So he hasn't reoffended? Well, maybe he is simply too clever to get caught. If at 10 years old you are capable of killing a tod and premeditated and even lieing to police and acting up to make yourself look like an innocent child- then you are a danger to society and no, you can't be rehabilitated.. Those 2 individuals need to be locked up for the rest of their lives no matter what. I don't believe in the death penalty. But I do believe in life sentences and that they can apply to very young offenders, too. I feel so sorry for Ralph and Denise and their entire family. The way they are dealing with this incredible loss and the horrors concerning James' murder are truly inspirational. Bless them all❤

Yet Thompson was always the one who was labelled the ‘evil one’ venables was always the mastermind. Crying and using he’s age to manipulate the authorities. Cuddling the officers in tears and hugging he’s mum. He was the first one to blame the other. I knew he was the leader. They both need locking up and not thinking about ever again. End em. I'm all for giving people a second chance, but sadly, this little sadistic enfant terrible has proven time and time again that he is beyond redemption.

The Family should not keep having to deal with this.The boys were detained at HMPleasure and reviewed.Surely someone must have has a clue what he was like inside and the threat, let alone outside. To then keep living on Tenterhooks in case he gets out is not acceptable.

Two failed releases says that 10 yr old was evil and committed this horrendous crime then re offended he’s a big danger to all public

Around that age you're usually a vastly different person from who you were at 10, for most people it would simply be punishment for something they physically committed but can't relate to for who they are now. What you're describing is sadism.

It's the only way that the voice of this precious little boy, James, can be heard. Ralph and Denise should be applauded for their continued courage in speaking out for their little child. Has it ever occurred to you, @timingswrong, that having that voice is the only way they can achieve any kind of "peace" given what has occurred. If they stop speaking out it means Jamie's life didn't matter...... AND IT DOES!!!!!! No decent parent would EVER stop fighting on behalf of a child who had suffered such an atrocity regardless of the cost to their own well-being! Well done to the interviewer and to Mr. Bulger.........may Jamie's voice NEVER be silenced.
