When I was a kid we had just one Asian lad in our village. One day I saw him repairing his bike and got talking and we became best friends. His mum was a total angel, Mrs Navanetharajah, and she’d always feed us especially when we’d been BMX-ing all day - some of the best days of my life. She always cooked this exact dish, I can still taste it, it was delicious and so different to the food I got at home in the early 80s. I’ve always wanted to find the recipe for this, they moved to Canada when we both went to Uni and I lost touch. Never seen a restaurant sell this dish, so I’ll make it myself and think of my best mate and his kind Mum who treated me like her own Son and fed me up at every opportunity.

When I was a little girl in the 1950’s my mom made keema for me,and for herself,my dad was one of those English men who refused to eat anything he deemed not British, well it started my love of Asian food.I moved to the US when I grew up,and 29 years ago I moved to an area of New York, that has become the largest Bangladeshi community in Queens, there are so many takeout places, for the Bangladeshi ,not for Americans, though I do see Afro-Americans enjoying the food.I have never seen keema,in the takeouts, and my friends never give me keema,it’s always fish, beef, goat, and chicken roast. So I will make this for myself, and thank you.Malaysia would be good, and Thailand,2 of my favourites, after Indian.

Love watching this guy have a proper scran at the end instead of just 1 bite so satisfying
I love your home style recipes…I like hearing about the food your mom made and which dishes you liked best! Those usually translate into the kinds of food everyone loves!
I have tried several of your recipes over the last year or so and loved them all, your earlier keema recipe is one of my favourites, i will be trying this one for sure ...thank you.
I made this dish when you posted the video of your mom's keema some time back ....i added the peas and potatoes .....it was amazing ...i also used some of it to fill samosas...the family and work mates loved them ......keep up the great work

Love you guys
When the chef is excited, that comes across in the final meal - thanks for all you do! I picked up 1 kg of lamb mince last night to make kofta, but I think that this is a better use of the meat, thanks for the inspiration. I've followed you for a while and love your travel videos, Bangladesh is great, and I like the idea of Malaysia, maybe add Indonesia, and Singapore. One of my favourites

I don't even watch your videos before saving into my "cooking" playlist anymore, I automatically save them because I know the recipes will be amazing.. and then watch it after 😁 Thank you Latif for all your recipes and making them accessible to us all! Much appreciated! 😊❤ We went to Malaysia last summer, it was great! Lots of tasty foods, extensive halal options everywhere, and the 'Malaysian Hospitality' slogan is truly as they say it is, everyone is nice and welcoming, helpful, and really enjoyed our trip. Would definitely go back! You'll love it there 🙂 Make sure you try the Ramly burger from the food trucks/stalls in Kuala Lumpur, definitely the best burger I've had in my life lol 😂
If you can show us your adventures. That would be great. Good luck enjoy your life. You have a gift thank you for sharing it with us. ❤

Thanks to KZread I, a recently retired guy, started cooking only a few years ago, and You have taught me curries! Your Basic Chicken Curry has become a favourite, made in a larger batch to go in the freezer. Just a few days ago I made your vegetarian Curry Aloo Gobi. Many thanks for your efforts!
