    Mind expanding, to say the least. And a really good call to demo in mono - realistic sounds for the majority of practical purposes. Looking forward to trying the matrix settings in stereo!

    2 years later, what delays are you using now? I'm seriously considering Keeley Halo, but I'm also interested in the DD-200

  • @MattPula

    Honestly the Eccos has remained one of go-to delays, but I also tend to always have my Keeley Caverns on my board setup as an always-on or more subtle delay - the distinction I make in my head is I use the Caverns as an all-around general effect , but I go to other pedals if I want to specifically "play the effects" if that makes sense. So if I want something more robust, or need tap tempo or a looper I'll use the Eccos, or sometimes the Walrus ARP-87 (which I have in the SLARP combo pedal). I also do this with reverb - I use the Caverns for general-purpose reverb, and the Hydra or SLO-side of the SLARP if I want to get crazy with things. The Halo sounds pretty awesome in demos though, and the DD200 would probably be able to do just about anything you could ever want, just kinda depends on what you're looking for.

    Great demo. Really show how diverse this pedal can be, plus you didn't even touch the looper side! BTW, I see the Caverns on your board too. How does the echo fidelity on the Caverns and ECCOs compare?

  • @MattPula

    @MattPula

    Thank you! The ECCOS is kind of in a league of its own in terms of echo fidelity. The amount of control you have over the trail tones is immense, and they mix in with the guitar extremely well, better than any delay I've used. That said the Caverns still has a fantastic and versatile set of delays in it, and the light-modulation delay in it remains my go-to-always-on delay to use when I'm just practicing/jamming. They're offer different enough things that I think they're both worth owning, but if I had to pick between the two I'd probably go with the ECCOS simply because of the increased usability features like the presets and the looper. And ya, speaking of looper - I totally recorded a section demoing that but didn't love how it turned out so I cut it from the video. I was thinking I might work on it some more and upload a supplemental video that covers the things I missed.

    Awesome! I have a video that I did on the Caverns last year that demos the it in a fairly comprehensive manner - this video was kind of an evolution of that concept. But ya, the Caverns is one of my all time favorites, and Keeley is the absolute best.

    Thank you, and glad to see someone making use of the presets :) A supplemental video covering some of the things I missed has been on my mind - I actually filmed a looper demo section for this as well as a "technical overview" going over what each knob does. But I didn't love how they turned out, and they made the video feel a bit bloated, so ultimately they got cut. Definitely would like to take another swing at those for their own video.
