ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಘಟ್ಟದ ಮಲೆನಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರವಾರದಿಂದ ಕೇರಳದ ನೀಲೇಶ್ವರದ ಕರಾವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಆಳಿದ ಕೆಳದಿಯ ವೀರರಾಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ವೀರಶರಣೆ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮಾಜಿ (ಚೆನ್ನಾಂಬಿಕೆ) ವಿದೇಶಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳಾದ ಪೋರ್ಚುಗೀಸ್, ಡಚ್ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷ್ ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿ ಗೆದ್ದ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿ. ಮೊಘಲ್ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿ ಔರಂಗಜೇಬ್ ನನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಛತ್ರಪತಿ ಶಿವಾಜಿ ಮಹಾರಾಜರ ಮಗ ರಾಜರಾಮನಿಗೆ ರಾಜಾಶ್ರಯ ನೀಡಿದ ರಾಣಿ. ಸಹಸ್ರಾರು ಜಂಗಮ ಮಠಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ ರಾಣಿ, ಕುಕ್ಕೆ ಸುಬ್ರಹ್ಮಣ್ಯ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ಜೀರ್ಣೋದ್ಧಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ ರಾಣಿ, ಸತಿ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯನ್ನು ಮೆಟ್ಟುನಿಂತ ರಾಣಿ, ೧೭ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದ ಕೊನೆಯ ಕಾಲಘಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಮತ್ತು ಶಕ್ತಿಶಾಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ರಾಣಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮಾಜಿ ಭುವನಗಿರಿದುರ್ಗದ ಅರಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಾಭಿಷೇಕಗೊಂಡ 350ನೇ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಈ ವರ್ಷ ಮಾರ್ಚಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಅರ್ಥ ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ನಮ್ಮ ನೆಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ರಾಣಿಯರು ಇದ್ದರೂ ಸಹಾ ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮಾಜಿಯ ಸಾಧನೆ ಇತರರಿಗಿಂತ ಒಂದು ಗುಲಗಂಜಿ ಅಷ್ಟಾದರು ಜಾಸ್ತಿಯೇ ಇದೆ. ಒಂದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮ ತನ್ನ ಹದಿನಾರನೆಯ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿ ಆಗುವುದು ಒಂದು ವಿಸ್ಮಯವೇ ಸರಿ. ಸತಿ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯನ್ನು ಮೆಟ್ಟಿನಿಂತು ರಾಜ್ಯಾಡಳಿತದ ಚುಕ್ಕಾಣಿ ಹಿಡಿದ ವೀರವನಿತೆ ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮಾಜಿ ೨೫ ವರ್ಷ ೪ ತಿಂಗಳು ೨೦ ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಸುದೀರ್ಘವಾಗಿ ರಾಜ್ಯಭಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕೀರ್ತಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಛತ್ರಪತಿ ರಾಜರಾಮನಿಗೆ ರಾಜಾಶ್ರಯ ನೀಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಶಿವಾಜಿಯ ಸ್ವರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಎರಡನೇ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದು ಇದೇ ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ ರಾಣಿ. ಹಲವಾರು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ದಾನ ನೀಡಿ, ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಅನ್ನ ನೀಡಿ, ಅನ್ನ ದಾಸೋಹದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅಕ್ಷರ ದಾಸೋಹ ನೀಡಿದ ತಾಯಿ, ಧರ್ಮಸಹಿಸ್ಣುತೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಕಳಾಗಿ, ಕೆಳದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮರಾಠರ ರಾಜಮಾತೆಯಾಗಿ ಮರೆಯಲಾರದಷ್ಟು ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ ನಮ್ಮ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮಾಜಿ ಈಶ್ವರಿ ನಾಮ ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಮಾಸದ ಚತುರ್ದಶಿಯಂದು (1697) ಶಿವೈಕ್ಯೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮಾಜಿ 25 ವರ್ಷ 4 ತಿಂಗಳು 20 ದಿನಗಳು ಕಾಲ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ಬಿದನೂರಿನಿಂದ ಮಲೆನಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಕರಾವಳಿಯನ್ನು ಆಳಿ ಶಕವರ್ಷ 1619ನೆಯ ಈಶ್ವರನಾಮ ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಶುದ್ಧ 14ರಂದು ಬಿದನೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವೈಕ್ಯೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಂದು ಚಾಲ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಗ್ರೆಗೋರಿಯನ್ ಕ್ಯಾಲೆಂಡರ್ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ರಾಣಿಯ ಪಟ್ಟಾಭಿಷೇಕಗೊಂಡ ದಿನ 24 ಮಾರ್ಚ 1672 (ಗುರುವಾರ) ಮತ್ತು ಶಿವೈಕ್ಯೆ ಗೊಂಡ ದಿನ 01 ಆಗಷ್ಟ್ 1697 (ಗುರುವಾರ) ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮಾಜಿ ಸೋಮಶೇಖರ ನಾಯಕರ ಮರಣದ ನಂತರ ತಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಬೆಲೆಬಾಳುವ ಒಡವೆಗಳು, ಬಣ್ಣ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಸುವರ್ಣ ಕಸೂತಿಯ ಸೀರೆಯನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿ ಬಿಳಿ ಸೀರೆಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮಾಜಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೊನೆಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಗ ಕೆಳದಿ ಬಸವರಾಜ ನಾಯಕರಿಗೆ ಭೋದಿಸಿದ ತತ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇಂದು ಪಾಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಸಾಕು ಈ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯಿಂದ ನೆಲೆಸ ಬಹುದು. ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಇಂದು ರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮಾಜಿಯ ೩೨೫ನೆಯ ಪುಣ್ಯಸ್ಮರಣೆಯ ದಿನದಂದು ನಾವುಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೇರಿ ಆ ತತ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ರೂಢಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳೋಣ. "ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಬೇಡ; ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬಿಡಬೇಡ; ಪ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಡಬೇಡ; ಮೋಸಗಾರನಿಗೆ ಅಂತರಂಗವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಬೇಡ. ತಪ್ಪು ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಡ, ತನ್ನವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭೇದ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ,
ವಾದವನ್ನು ಬಿಡು, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡು, ಶಿವನ ವಾದವನ್ನು ಭಜಿಸು. ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದಯೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸು, ಆಶ್ರಿತರನ್ನು ಸಲಹು, ಇತರರ ನಿಂದನೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಡ, ಸ್ಟೇಚ್ಛೆಯಿಂದ ವರ್ತಿಸಬೇಡ, ಕಾಮಾದಿ ದೋಷಗಳನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸು; ಸಂಸಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿಗುಪ್ಪೆಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆ; ದುಃಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆದರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಡು; ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮುದವನ್ನು
ಬಿಡು, ತತ್ತ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಿರು; ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದೈತಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಇಡು, ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಮೀರಬೇಡ, ವೇದಜ್ಞರನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸು, ಸಂಸಾರವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಪ್ನವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿ; ತಾನು ಯಾರೆಂದು ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿರು, ಹಾಸ್ಯಕ್ಕೊಳಗಾಗದೆ ನಗುತ್ತಿರು, ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮವಾದ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳು, ಜನರಿಂದ ಹೊಗಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕು; ಪುನಃ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗದ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಸೇರು; ಶಿವನನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಆನಂದವನ್ನು ಪಡೆ".

I am a Tamilian, but I am ashamed to see the Rani Chennama's memorial temple in such a bad shape. She is a national icon, one of the very few women rulers who rebelled against the British and actually defeated them. Government should immediately repair this monument. Public will be more than happy to contribute to the repairs and later visit this place.

Just to make it clear, this memorial belongs to Keladi Chennamma and not Kittur Chennamma. Both these women rulers are different and belonged to a different dynasties in Karnataka. Their timelines are also different. But both their contribution to protecting our land from the invaders is commendable.

A very nice informative video. But why are you adding "ji" the equivalent of that in Kannada is "navaru/avaru". Why are you spoiling the essence of beautiful language ? Would be nice to see ppl preserve the language as is. Jai Kannadambe !!

If you take a look at thousands of Copper Plate Inscriptions, Stone Inscriptions and Kadatas belonging to Keladi Rulers from 1495 to 1763, you would notice the names of all royal ladies (Queens & Princesses) ending with "Ji". Hence I am using the name which is in the records and as History Student I follow the record's. Thanks for your opinion and views. You can have a look at the three volumes of Epigraphic Karnataka relating to Shivamogga to ascertain my answer. 🙏

@@karnatakahistory Thanks for explanation and pointers. Also, glad to see you have taken time to do the research before posting the video. I looked around little bit as we'll and found the honory "ji" has some history of its own. Transforming from attan -> accha -> cha -> ja -> ji . As Keladi had Marathas influence "ji" was used in the copper plates. Happy to learn something new :)

@@oimgoimg4242 Marata sounding names, dress style, administrative words, army unit names were absorbed by the Malenadu and Coastal Karnataka Area's. Interesting in those days Bombay Karnataka Area (Uttara Karnataka) was under the Marathas after the fall of Adil Shah's and became the immediate neighbors to us.
Please do not use the word Tomb Samadhi is correct word

ಶಾಸನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಳದಿಯ ರಾಣಿಯರು ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜಮನೆತದ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆಯೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಾನು ಸಹಾ ಅದನ್ನು ಬರೆದಿರುವೆ. ಇದರ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಯಾರನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲು ಹೆಸರಿನ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 'ಜೀ' ಅನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಲ್ಲ. ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಜರು ಅಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀ ಎರಡನ್ನು ಸೇರಿ ಬಳಸಿರುವುದು ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತದೆ
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ.....ಸ್ಥಳ ವಿವರ ಕೊಡಿ
