When Al was a student circa 1980, his college show (a precursor to his comedy albums) was a huge success but he did get pushback from one person. A new general manager at the station who wanted him to play Christopher Cross type of soft rock. He would, but would speed it up or play it backwards!
They even played a few seconds of a skit where he was "tied up" in the background as his show got taken over, and he freed himself just in time!
