The thing that’s really cool to think about is that Jin’s moveset in the next game will likely be a hybrid of his older movesets. DJ obviously won’t be in the next game, so Jin embracing his Mishima style and past is BNE’s way of setting up Jin for the next game way down the line. Very smart decision to do this whole thing in the story mode now.

By the way, I think this would look great as a character select intro, a bit similar to the intro from Mortal Kombat 11 and Injustice 2. Additional ideas: 1. The combos are not all the same every time. Players can pick and choose which combo they want to go with, and they can "win" the initial encounter prior to getting locked into a stalemate position. By "pick and choose", I mean to perform the moves as if this was a real game. This is sort of like "appetizer" for the real action. Whoever wins the initial encounter could get a slight bonus, such as +1 power meter. 2. Allow for maximum creativity with the intro. In the character select screen, the players could have 3 chances to try out 3 different characters and their combos in this "appetizer", sparring mode that lasts about 5 to 10 seconds each. For example, #1: Jin vs. Kazuya #2: Paul vs. Eddie #3: Forest vs. Hwoarang The players don't have to go through all 3 available choices. One player could confirm and finalize the pick after the first one. Another player could go through 3 different characters before finalizing the choice. Each time there is a new character selected, both players would spar for 5 to 10 seconds. It has real practical purposes, especially in tournaments, as players like to posture, feint, test out the water with the other player. It would also look pretty awesome as a spectator event! Will add more excitement to the actual match.
