About Gran Turismo 6:
www.gran-turismo.com/us/produc...
This film is about drive. It's about the passion and creative drive of Kazunori Yamauchi, the architect behind Gran Turismo's birth and breath-taking fifteen-year evolution. This film will trace his relentless willingness to challenge himself, to hold none of his past achievements sacred, and push beyond the virtual divide in his pursuit of perfection. Through the support of PlayStation, Kaz's journey has forever changed the gaming and automotive landscape and in doing so, has redefined how we perceive the relationship between art, entertainment and culture.

I know it’s 2021, and yes, it is taking a while for GT7 to come out, but I am really patient. We have PS5 but I hope that it comes out when PSVR 2 comes out, so we don’t have VR issues.
What makes GT different, what makes it something no other racing game series could achieve: It has a soul. Everyone who plays this games with joy of racing, really feels how much care, effort and love was taken into these games. That is something I have never felt before and again in every racing game I played. And believe me, I played and still play lot's of racers.

I’ve been watching this documentary for 8 years and hundreds of times, and the film “GranTurismo” was released this morning. Literally, “time has come”
This game literally changed my life! I've been a mechanic since 1990, a car and race fanatic since birth and still I've learned more about driving, performance, componantry, tuning, physics & dynamics, auto design, styling, photography and car culture from this series than in all previous endeavors! This game is why 90% of us knew what a Skyline was in the 90's!!! This franchise spawns passion and makes you want to learn more and be better within your sector of intrest. How many games can stake that kind of claim? Globally at that! ❤
One of the greatest movies about one of the greatest games.

This guys love (being the game) was what Apple the company meant to Steve Jobs. The guy has this type of passion rarely seen in people now a days and it shows with not only the game but the respect the meetings and admiration from others thats why I love the Gran Turismo franchise
This game is an Icon in the gaming industry, I grew up with Gran Turismo on the PS1 so this really hit home. This film was great, not only were the persons in the documentary demonstrating their creativity but director of this doc did as well in the way he shot this film & told Kazunori story, nicely done
KAZ: Pushing the Virtual Divide is less about video games than it is about what a person with a singular focus and passion can accomplish. Whether you are carving surf boards or drifting, perfecting a singular job is a story worth telling. The people that accomplish this love the process, the nitty gritty detail that pushes people away pushes them toward it. The director does an excellent job of maintain that theme throughout the film, instead of focusing on the game or racing aspect. Not only is this film worth watching, but I would recommend non-gaming/racing enthusiasts watch it as well.
GT Academy alone proves that the Gran Turismo games are great :) I've played every game since 1997 and I'm still a fan :)

I'm surprised there's not more views in the years since this was uploaded, as we know, Granturismo is one of PlayStation main attractions, I guess not everyone who plays it has the same respect and admiration for its creator
When Kaz said it felt like they were letting go of something that belonged to the team.. I felt that.. But the beauty in it is that I remember turning 4yrs old.. My parents took me to toys r us.. And Gran Turismo 1 was on the shelf.. It caught my eye like a shiny treasure.. Mr. Yamauchi brought more than happiness... He brought a passion for cars.. One that stuck with me until today in 2021.. I drive a Lexus GS and seeing him drive off in the LFA almost made me shed a tear.. Thank you Kaz
It's now 2022 and AGAIN Kazunori Yamauchi and his team has blown the world's mind with Gran Turismo 7!!! Unbelievable experience!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

I play gran turismo because it offers me the opportunity to experience on a basic level all that the cars in the game have to offer. Before gran turismo, I could only dream of what a zonda c12 is like to drive because I could never drive one, and it was great. Before gran turismo I never understood why the mk1 golf gti was so hyped, but now I know how brilliant it is. Before gran turismo, I thought ferrari was just a brand name that happens to have marketed itself very well over the decades, but now that I've felt the feel and the power of cars like the 250 gto, f40, 288 gto and all the other cars that put ferrari on the map, I have developed huge respect for the brand. I have learned so much about driving from the game, and it has brought me much closer to my highest passion, cars.

When i watch Formula 1 and play other racing games, i don't really learn any racing skills and there is no releastic feel. it is just the loud shout of engines when it goes past you. But with Gran Turismo, Kazunori Yamauchi shows the new way of racing and more real life racing than any other, it really change my life afterall. i wish one day i could race together with him. He's remarkable!
Gt7 boys... great time to be a gamer
Gran Turismo is a game that I want to hate. I want to hate it because of boring sounds, repetitive gameplay and other flaws, but I can't. I just can't hate it because of the passion that goes into this game, the driving experience, that feeling you get when you are nailing the turns perfectly and speeding in your favorite car, customising you car to suit your driving style, making it feel like its you car. That is something you just can't hate.

couldn't agree more, GT is always one of the games I will come back to, due to the fact you have to graft, you have to fight and really try to gain money and better cars, the races can be long but tactical with constant battles through the race (if you have the difficulty where it should be) its something my xbox and forza friends will never understand, its a real shame, but more enjoyment for people like us!
i have been playing grand torismo since GT2 released in 1999, that's 15 years of immersion in this game, hundreds of hours of gameplay, i can't wait to race with my baby boy when he is old enough, many thanks Mr Yamauchi
Thats why GT is different from all other racing games because this game develop with passion and love cant wait to see GT on PS4 loved the movie soooo much.

Not that I'm complaining because it's a documentary about father Kazunori Yamauchi giving the world a gift that is the Gran Turismo series but why is this popping into my recommended for no reason. It's been 8 years since this thing has been made.
Playing Gran Turismo on PS1 was a life changing experience , and after being away from consoles for 3 years I just bought a PS4 and GT Sport and it's even better !!!

Honestly if your someone who loves the JDM scene or all about low riders or if your a fan of NASCAR and your a fan of formula one this is one of my favorite culture and community that is still growing, it doesn't matter if which Motorsport is better we still have things in common and it would never make a difference if you look the other way because we have the same thoughts and feelings of driving and we even share the same road, so enjoy your speed, sliding, drifting or smooth driving because all of us can have a ride that we will never forget
As a car enthusiast and huge Gran turismo fan this was simply amazing. Its incredible how much work and dedication is put into this. Its more then just a video game its where we can show the world what we're made of.
The microtransactions has decreased my loyalty to this franchise.

dont let it, microtransaction will be there for most new games, specially a sony money hungry title. In the game mico transaction are not forced on you like some other games, you dont have to go through an extra screen to get rid of the transactions. The game is still great, the love for cars is there. Yes classics are expensive and not everyone can buy them, doesnt that make them classics? i feel like if one is looking for easy money and tons of cars forza is the way.
I respect and admire so much passionate people, kazunory is a great man, it's inspiring, beyond gaming.
I loved this movie! You wouldn't think time would pass so fast in a documentary, but it was great learning about a man with so much vision. I wish I could thumb up twice! Mad props to ya Kaz. BTW, this documentary was beautifully put together, the shot, the angle, the footage, the music, the sound of the cars mixed in just at the right time. Good job.

I've always wondered why I got that "feeling" while playing GT5, that sublime, surreal connection to something more than the game I was currently playing. There may be prettier, or better sounding simulators, but honestly, when yur in that zone and expressing and feeling the emotion GT evokes, nothing comes close. GT for life.

Rock solid documentary right here. Video games are getting more recognition than ever, and this video does a great job in highlighting the skills and assets required to bring the medium to life. However small it may seem this film really does the industry justice. Powerful stuff.

The passion kaz and his team have to make the gran turismo series what it is and has become is so moving. It is truely motivational to see all the talent that went into this game. It makes me want to push harder in my passions and things I enjoy in my life to push myself beyond my limits. Loved it.
I've been playing GT5 for a while now and I absolutely love the game. The tracks, the cars, even the music I enjoy. I knew Kazunori was a passionate man about the GT series, but I never understood how much until I saw this documentary and it's brilliant!
Interesting one, always knew that the Kazunori actual cares about the cars and overall driving experience, how it feels like and how each car handles, leaving out all the trash that usually wents into the games such as NFS or forza games which fans are always "Give us the non-realistic cars aslong they sound like never heard in real life whatsoever" Kaz got my respect
Amazing film that showed the passion Kaz has for Gran Turismo. The support from the manufacturers and racing drivers was great to see. A franchise that will never be overtaken from any other racing games developer. Can't wait to see what Kaz can produce on the Playstation 4. This film should be respected by any gamer after watching this.

It's easy to sometimes forget how much personal passion can be behind the creation of a videogame. Thank you for this documentary, it offered me a glimpse into the relationship of the videogame and the real world passion and the heritage it preceded it. It's quite humbling to see how peoples life were changed by it. The world videogame creation needs more of these people, with with great creative vision and purpose. I think the current indie gamedev scene is fascinating for that reason. New personalities are closer to the surface, instead of being hidden under hundreds of people tinkering on their vision. I guess in that sense, Kaz was lucky to have been able to steer the development of his projects before the rise of big-budget gaming and the growth of development teams it spawned.
