The judge has not ruled on Trump attending the graduation. Trump was playing for sympathy when he made the claim he wasn’t allowed to go. The judge said he’ll decide closer to the date, depending on where they are in the trial.

Why hasn’t anyone pointed out that Trump did nothing to help his “patriots” from the Jan. 6 insurrection? It was totally within Trump’s pardon powers to pardon all of the people at the Capitol building. They could have been saved the cost of lawyers, the lose of their jobs, the hardship for their families, and having to go to prison. Three previous presidents have pardoned people before they were arrested or charged or convicted of crimes. Ford and Bush pardoned Nixon and Casper Weinberger. And Carter pardoned thousands of draft evaders with a blanket pardon. And that pardon ended all investigations by the Justice Department into the lives of thousands of people. So, why didn’t Trump even try to help those people? They went to stop the certification of the vote on Trump’s orders. Yet, he wouldn’t even sign a piece of paper to save them?

@gen_z_hippichikk Donald Trump has the presidential immunity trial at the Supreme Court which his lawyers asked for him to be able to attend the 1 day of and this judge said that his court is just as important and that if he goes to the supreme court a bench warrant for his arrest would be placed. I think Trump should defy this clown show of a judge and trial and attend the supreme court to defend the presidency of the United States of America.

As long as the indictments came before the statue of limitations have run out, then the accused can be charged. For these particular crimes that trump is charged with, the statute of limitations is typically 5 years, but it can be extended based on certain criteria. One of those criteria's is if the defendant was not in the state during that period on a continuous basis. Being that trump was president, that 5 year time was paused. Here is the actual legal wording: (a) Any period following the commission of the offense during which (i) the defendant was continuously outside this state or (ii) the whereabouts of the defendant were continuously unknown and continuously unascertainable by the exercise of reasonable diligence. However, in no event shall the period of limitation be extended by more than five years beyond the period otherwise applicable under subdivision two. Based on the above, the statue of limitations for trump is 10 years + 7 months. During the covid pandemic, the governor of New York extended the statute of limitations by 7 months.
