I attended Kayhan Kalhor's conert yesterday in DC and was absolutely floored by his soulful performance. He is a genius.

The murmuring of the birds in the background just so brilliant.

why does this sound much richer than a Western violin? I think those players could learn some soul by taking the time to listen to melodies like these. Thank you for the upload.

Because what we haven't got, or what we're not used to, always sounds more appealing. The grass is always greener, as they say. The violin is also an utterly magnificent instrument, afterall.
