Very good video. The oldest one I saw, and the best explained.

This is a classic. I love the old, patched fiberglass boats and Norse paddles. I particularly love it that he opened with videos of C-1 paddlers -- great shots, but he doesn't teach a C-1 roll in the video. C-1's used to be much more common than they are today. The "cast" were all well-known paddlers in this era.

Yes , the cast were top paddlers in the day. I still have a John Sweet boat, Super Batmax. First of the video was fun to see with the classic boats & paddlers.

Fantastic video. Not knocking any fellow paddler but if your technique was not spot on, you were not rolling the kayaks in this video. Years ago after years away from my old fibreglass snipe I decided to give it a go. Did I roll it? Yes. On the 8th attempt! Thanks for the video. Stood the test of time

The roll has changed! they do it on the rear deck now! well, in a short boat and in certain circumstances.

The roll has changed. The anchor arm should not be extended and the body should now tuck forward ready to paddle. An extended anchor arm also changes the angle of the blade to a diving angle at the point where support is needed on the final hipsnap

Practice without the paddle first. Keep it simple.
