Hey Dean, I took your first Kayak Fishing Class back about 15 years ago. Three days of overwhelming information. Wish I could have remembered everything you were telling us. Paddled the 10th anniversary of Lighthouse lakes and the next year with your group also. Great time with a great guide. Pizza Hut delivered to an island in the bay. Never expected that.

Appreciate the info on distance, gives people a better perspective of what you need to do in order to find fish some days

Didn’t know you started a KZread channel. Those flats are my happy place. I only get down 2-3 times a year…but usually am lucky enough to come for a couple weeks at a time and fish every day when we are there. The rest of the year I live vicariously watching videos of you and others from the area 😂🤙🏻🍻🎣 Love the content Dean! Yes, the flats of the coastal Bend make people happy

Great content!Unfortunately, I’m only there a couple/few times a year. I try fish different waters every time I’m down there but somehow I find myself kayak fishing in LHL. I’ve seen hundreds of reds schooling/tailing in the flats. Definitely gets your heart pumping!

As a fishermen I try to keep track of everything that’s happening and why…with that being said have you ever noticed when they are tailing? I find them tailing the most after light rain showers or overcast days with no wind or bait movement. What’s your perspective?

Tailing tends to be random and arbitrary… I consider it just a lucky day

what would be a good area there to fly fish . how do you pick an area that is good for flyfishing as well I am getting into flyfishing.

The entire area of lighthouse lakes is favorable for fly fishing. Once you cross the channel it is all very shallow lakes with grass, beds, and sandholes… So it really is a haven for sight casting

Those are Soft Science boots….I don’t think they make them any longer…haven’t seen them in a while
