Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could kzread.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

Watermelon is my favorite soft plastic worm color. Here in central Texas it feels like it generates the most bites in the most types of water. A Texas rigged watermelon worm pulled across the bottom works in Lake Travis (ultra clear water), murky ponds, and just about anything in between. Super muddy water might give you a problem, but semi dirty and clear water it just feels like the closest to a one size fits all bait to recommend to someone starting out on a budget.

I saw on Instagram, someone fished a wacky rig on top of grass and Lilly pads, tried it yesterday in a local pond here in PA, caught my PB up here in the north. I was using a weed less ⅛th weighted hook and the good ole green pumpkin senko. I was fishing it fairly fast and gigging at a fast motion. Excited to give it another try come up at different fishing spots.

The color worm that produces best for me is Carolina Brown Chartrouse by Yum Dinger. Absolutely no clue why it works so well on my fisheries, but it absolutely catches more fish for me than any other color- doesn't matter the conditions. I think that the chartrouse tail maybe looks a bit like a baitfish tail/fin?

Also, re: your question about private vs. public fish for the lunker program. Probably has something to do with the diversity in the gene pool in private versus public waters. Public water fishers will be stocked more often from fish with a variety of genetics so they're less likely to have degenerative issues and mutations from inbreeding and lack of diversity in the gene pool that can be passed on to future generations of fish.

"it's a long process" that's my favorite part of the uncuts. Sometimes I watch videos where you and your peers make ten casts in five minutes and somehow catch twelve bass. Then I go get skunked for the third time in a row. Seeing how difficult it can be even for pros is oddly reassuring.

hey man, another great video. i really enjoy these videos. GET ON THE YAK MORE!!! maybe more of an explanation of how you break down a body of water on a yak or fish a kayak tournament. i primarily fish powerbait, usually max scent. for stick baits like the general, i prefer the babybass color or the green pumpkin. for the power tail or curly tail i prefer junebug, red grape, red shad, or motor oil color. for trick worm style baits i prefer junebug. for dropshots its either natural like a smelt color or like a tequila sunrise color. why do i like these? purely marketing and "science" lol. when i stop having luck or you tell me to use another color is when i will.

Hey Tyler I’ve seen other videos of underwater footage with Bluegill on bed and the bass don’t seem to be picking on them rather they seem to be eating forage that appears to be eating bluegill eggs. I started trying small baits, ie: Ned rigs around the beds and have been having good luck with this. What’s your opinion on this

Awesome video man! Very high production value too. What's your kayak and sonar kit?

I appreciate that! It’s the Native Titan 10 I believe, and the sonar is Garmin 93sv, with the LV32 Livescope transducer. About the cheapest you can go for Livescope

I'm assuming your using fluro for your frogs. Why not use braid? Normally it's easier to make sure You're able to set the hook sense it doesn't stretch. For me it's atleast easier. And the line floats so it works out better for me when it comes to action.

No, I’ve got 50lb braid on there. I would never throw frogs on fluoro. Im just not that good at hooksets in a kayak lol
