"Crack that yak" would be a great series for this channel. Any shop that has an unsellable kayak because it came bad from factory, and just put it through the ringer. Then show results and build a scale, to compare with other brands down the line. the scraping bottom test, the draggin through gravel on the parking lot, chords and lines stress testing, rudder ruggedness (hitting a log with it, or hittting it with a log lol). hinges durability, corrosion on the seating and rails on saltwater. etc etc etc.

Aliex, that was a great video, and you guy's really know this sport. All the reviews, demo"s, non bias opinions. Teaching us newer anglers, now in our kayak's. I love my kayak, my Bixpy, my trolling motor, and all my accessories. It's my one man boat, that I saved for, setup, and enjoy. Then people ask "WHY NOT GET A SMALL BOAT" We're all in our small boat's, with no headaches. Just a $25.00 reg fee, and that's all you need. And you can cover miles of water, and launch basically wherever you want. Love the shop series videos, especially Dave's shop. Great job bro..🎣 🙏 😎

Crackin' me up about tying boat too tight. I heeded advice, tied Wifeys (thermo formed) Costco Pelican "not too tight". Going over Moon Pass on a washboardy road, Wifey's little boat bailed off the rack on my camper shell, bounced once on the gravel road and over the side down through the aspens to the bank of the creek 100 vertical feet below. Well, I got it back. 1 little scuff near the bow.

I like the new canoe, because of the open deck concept for my dog. I have never fished out of one and I do not own one. But me and my dog fish out of my catch 130 also... Except for not being able to stand in the 130 very well. Like I've told you before it's still probably my favorite go to kayak! And pelican is such a dream to deal with! My Dorado was my Cadillac, then I got the three water big fish, and it feels like my Dorado for a lot less money! When I compare the three water big fish to the Dorado, I'm comparing everything but the drive, the drive from feel free on the Dorado is definitely smoother! But I would take my pelican 130 any day. Now I'm only fishing flat Waters!

I got the Catch because I wanted a motor and for someone who was just getting into this it seemed easy to set up for a motor, gave plenty of accessory rails, and was easy to transport by myself. Now that I’ve had it I would have rather got a decent pedal drive just because the Catch is really hard to paddle when rigged up so you are really dependent on the motor. But the boat is great if you are motoring around. Using it in my first KBF event this weekend so we’ll see how it does.

The pelican boats will definitely hold up. I abuse my catch 120, and bass raider on all kinds of hard abrasive rock and drag for miles without water. I strap them down hard too and they take abuse and keep on going. Best value in boats on the market. I don’t know why you would spend the extra money for a rotomolded when they are made so well.

Hello everyone! I purchased a pelican pwr 100 four days ago and put it through it’s paces and this is the results 1: the plastic is too soft, I place the catch on a yak cart and it bows in when you strap it down. 2: the rod holders bows up when you put a big pole/net in it. Like I said the plastic is too soft. How is it going to support 350 lbs? I had a lifetime kayak for the last four years so I understand some plastic. I’m running a minnkota 45 traxxis off a 100ah lithium battery. Garmin cv 7 and control panel off a 12ah lithium. I carry a three tray tackle bag two poles, one flag and a collapsable net. I have a two gallon earth bag with dry clothes and goodies. I keep a waterproof hoodie on the backrest of the chair. I love that chair, I’m 5’3 and I can spin it. I really like the space it has, I stood up in it and will make a standing brace for it. Take scuffle plug, cut center out place over tube end of paddle. Now place into front scuffle hole, you now have some leverage. Keep in mind… it’s for leverage not full weight support. Oh yeah…. Always have a two piece paddle, it’s easier for storage reasons and if and when needed. It’s just the plastic that’s bad other than that it’s amazing! I’m investing more money into it because of the soft plastic. I have to get the new YakAttack cart because it has rails that will support the hull in transit and skid strips for the front and bottom. “Pelican” if this gets too you be assured I’m keeping my catch pwr 100, it’s a match for me. I load it into the back of my truck, it works for me. You have built the perfect craft and I commend you, however you need to upgrade the plastic.

This was an awesome video. But i have to disagree. Kayaks originally were minimal like canoes. Some of us appreciate that. We have no desire to turn our kayaks into "plastic jonboats". I love my Pelican and I'd never need a chainsaw like Chad has used in one video to progress. Pile gear into your kayak and you lose mobility. What was the point of the kayak then? :)

As a mechanical engineer in manufacturing, there is so much bad information about kayak manufacturing out there. Thermoformed kayaks are very strong. Different brands use different materials. Of course!! PelicanSports (Pelican International ) not to mix with Pelican Inc. (Wich also develop plastic products, but in this case molded protective cases and water-resistant cases for professional equipment), has been on the market since 1968 as they claim for more than 50 years! They came with this product and it blows the nucanoe out the water without even trying. True they need some better head designer in their dep. But they have dialed this technology to better degree! Light weight and affordable!

FWIW, I have owned both a Nucanoe Unlimited and a Pelican Catch 130 HD. The Pelican was much higher quality than the Nucanoe. The Nucanoe had issues with a soft deck, bubbles in the hull, and the support was subpar. The only benefit to the Nucanoe was the 360 seat. Hobie is also producing thermoformed Kayaks which should tell you something.

So when does someone become a hater and not just offering a different opinion? When is it theyre just questioning to understand? When does it cross the line from being critical feedback to a hater?

I think most people take unexpected feedback as hate, if I go out and say grill this video, tell me why it sucks and people do, that negative feedback is welcomed, but if someone just comes and says...this video sucks because you didn't talk about the hobie, you need to do xy and c and in that order... I don't see that as feedback I see it as "hate" for lack of a better word

@Aliex Folgueira I think taking it as hate is a misstep. People express themselves differently. Some people are more direct. Some may pussyfoot around. No matter how you perceive typed words, it still can be constructive criticism. It is just a matter of how you take it.

Nucanoe sells front trolling motor mount and remote controlled trolling motor so you can have spot lock - Not available on the pelican. If you express your opinion when Chad is around you better be prepared to back it up with facts.

@@AliexFolgueira Nucanoe has available a custom bow mount and Motor Guide i3 remote controlled motor while Pelican Catch PWR does NOT. This is a clear advantage for the Nucanoe and any comment to the contrary is not credible. I am sure with some time and effort you could come up with a bow mount set up on the Pelican but would it be easier and more effective? I don't think so.
