Have the 2020 model owned for 2 years , great bike 😎👍

Let me add to the review for anyone looking to buy, I bought one 2 weeks ago without the ohlins and Brembo’s and it’s exactly what you’d expect. It can be a wheelie machine, ridden through traffic like a maniac, drifted round country roads or ridden like you’re pretending it’s the Isle of Man TT but the suspension is quite tough and after a few hours riding it does feel like you’ve dropped the soap in a prison shower. However, if you put it in low power mode with traction cranked all the way up, something which I’ve personally named pussy mode, it’s an incredibly smooth bike to ride and if you’re a tree hugger you’ll be happy to know you’d easily get 150 miles out of the 20quid tank of fuel in that mode. I get about 110 miles out of it purely because I ride like I have 9 lives🤷🏼‍♂️ Either way it’s a great bike and if you want to have fun or go for a chilled Sunday ride it can do both with the right mode set.

Thanks for the info. The dealer said I had to keep it in “pussy” mode. It really does effect the test ride. I missed out on all of the fun.

Just bought a 2020 black version, pick next Tuesday can’t wait, good review!!

I have the Z900 se, its in a different league to the GSX8S with it parallel twin engine. It doesnt have all the electronics that are fashionable today but i am old and i prefer it that way

I’m gutted I only had it in the lowest settings I never got to experience it properly. I will definitely have to revisit it.

Is it fast? At 120hp, why the rider aids? Traction control should be sufficient. A QS would be a nice option

you have to pay extra for a QS. I agree with you I don’t know why rider modes are a big thing at the moment. When I started you were the rider mode. You eased off in the wet and gave it the beans in the dry. Its not something I look for in a bike when I buy.

Looks nice. So many different naked bikes to chose from though. Decisions decisions

I think it would benefit from an aftermarket exhaust to make it sound better 😎

I been riding the Z400 past few years but thinking about this one, do you think it’s to much of a step in or easy to transition?

It would be an easy transition. You will just have to take it easy on the throttle until you are used to it.
