Two thumbs up! I just picked up a used Vulcan Cafe from a non-Kawasaki dealer and they no idea how to determine the different Ergo-Fit sizing. I can now measure the parts and fine tune the fit myself.

I finally found this video, very good. Here in Brazil this bike is only sold in standard mode, no seats, handlebar or pegs. I got in touch with a Brazilian dealer of custom seats and he produced one for me with 15.75 in further back, and 1,6 in higher. Now it's time to find the extended pegs.

Thanks a lot for this. Wasn't sure what setup I had buying mine from a private party yesterday. Thankfully it's the standard reach handlebars, and I'm relieved to realize I have the midreach shifter rod, as I want a little more stretch room. So I plan on grabbing the extended reach rod. I'm looking at the reduced reach bars and foot pegs, while keeping the standard reach seat; at 5'7" I figure two of the 3 reduced reach features will be about right. I think the taller riders have to get on this to see how their legs fall in relation to all the important bits. I'll hazard a guess that the tall guys (6'2"+) who feel comfortable on the Vulcan S might have what we call an athletic build. Tall guys who happen to have my morphology (I prefer the term "plush!") may find the knee angle too steep for comfort. But, I'd encourage anyone 4'8" to 7'3" to try it out. Just 'cause... :-) Thanks, Tripp, for the EXCELLENT video! Sound was a little low on the recording, but, after i bound and gagged my children, I found I could hear it just fine.....

That bit about the seats would help to explain why some people find the stock seat uncomfortable and a select few don't. I wonder if the few that don't are riding the Extended reach seat with the gel pad, hence the difference in opinion.

Colville Titus the Vulcan S is a great bike but I’d be very leery about getting one at 6’ 4”. Test ride one first in extended reach configuration. I’d make sure the test ride was at least 10-15 miles and lasted 15-20 minutes to get a good feel for things. The Vulcan 900 may be a better choice at height, but who knows? Others as tall as you say the Vulcan S works for them. Your mileage may vary. :) Hope you’ve subscribed!

Thank you for the excellent video. The Kawasaki dealers in my area (there are 3 within 60 miles) do not participate with the dealer installed options for the Ergo fit. I will have to purchase and then pay for the labor to install. In fact, none of them have an example of all three bikes as you show at your dealership. They carry the standard reach bike, but that is it. I'm 6'1" and 250lbs with 32 inch in seam. SO I think the extended reach will work. However, the after watching your video and the measurements, maybe a extended reach seat with standard reach pedals and the short reach (pulled back) bars would work. I could do the seat and install the extended rod for the gear shift myself. I did see a video where a tester complained that the extended rod gear shifter felt or was rubbery. I'll have to do more investigating. Thanks again!!

Tripp On Two Wheels : We have Craigslist in India which is not popular when compared to some other local sites. However, selling Bike accessories over such sites isn’t common here as in US.. Bikes like Vulcan are considered ‘Premium’ in India and they’re very few. I live in a Big city with a population of 10 Million and I have seen only 2 Vulcans on Road in the last 1 year ! So There’s no option but to purchase the low reach seat from Kawasaki dealership. However, the middle reach seat isn’t very uncomfortable and I guess I live with it at least for now !

Tripp On Two Wheels : Nope ! I saw not even a single Vulcan at the service center yesterday. All the bikes I saw were Ninjas.. Indians make and post quite a few Motorcycle Reviews on KZread.. However, Premium Motorcycle market is still evolving in the country. Ironically, India happens to be the largest two wheeler manufacturer in the world ! www.google.com/amp/s/www.rideapart.com/articles/245751/india-becomes-worlds-largest-motorcycle-manufacturer/amp/ Most of the Motorcycles locally manufactured are low capacity commuter bikes, where as almost all 500+CC bikes are imported as CKD units and just assembled here and they’re quite expensive as a result ! For instance, Vulcan cost me $10000 !!

Thanks a lot. Seems the used Vulcan S that I purchased is all standard reach. I'm 5'11". Not too tall, not too short, but I was curious what configuration the bike had since it felt pretty comfortable the way it was. On my Honda Shadow 750, I ended up getting floorboards because I was extremely paranoid about missing the pegs and dragging my feet on the ground, but on the Vulcan S, the pegs feel natural. I think they are also bigger, and I haven't even bothered to check if floorboards even exist for the bike. Since its a cruiser, I'm guessing they do, but I have no interest in changing it.

If the bike is new have them give you an extended reach setup as the reduced reach seat is only $79 or $99. The extended reach is $229 by itself. An additional shift Rod is only $10.

Not for free. It's too bad people didn't get into trading with each other more. Of course the mid reach is the standard, so there'd be an influx of that each option. I'm in your boat. I bought a 2nd hand KVS and it's the wrong reach for me. Changed out the shift rod and have handlebar risers on order. I purchased the reduced handlebars and returned them bc I didn't think I'd like the hand position. Still have the mid reach seat too. Not sure if I'll replace it or not.
