You know, I was ready to thumb this video down for bothering to tell us how to take off side fairings but then bailing on the serious steps for getting out the carbs (not even the tank removal)… but in the end it really tells me all I need to know. Thanks! I’d be happy with a thorough carb cleaning video for EX250J (2008-2012) even if it didn’t cover removal at all… and I have that same Harbor Freight ultrasonic cleaner so this totally works for me. Thanks! Thumbing up and saving as a favorite.

I had the same problem but, not being a mechanic, Sea Foam was my savior. Worked like a charm.

Just the tip you should be also using JIS screwdrivers. Japanese motorcycles are all JIS

Not hard to pull carbs. 1) remove seat and fairings. 2) pull tank 3) loosen air box and pull it back. 4) remove throttle cable and choke cable. 5) pull carbs back from intake and remove carbs. Video does show what is needed to be done for carb removal. Check out cbr1000f retro sports tourer project to see carb removal. Good luck with your project

Nice video, this is my next step on mine. Kinda wish youd have shown yanking the carbs, guess I'm figuring that one out myself.

I have that same Harbor Freight ultrasonic cleaner. What kind of cleaning fluid did you use? I usually use isopropyl alcohol for cleaning circuit boards but I have no idea what to use for cleaning carbs. Distilled water? Thanks.

This an old video but I’ll give it a try to ask. What do you adjust the air fuel mixture to? And what was exactly happening to the bike before? I have a ninja 500ex that starts up but does not stay idle unless I keep revving it, I’ve cleaned the carburetors but it keeps happening. At one point the bike was idle but the revs would fluctuate up to 6k rpms and when I’d turn the idle sown it’d still stall

Ive cleaned the carbs on mine thoroughly and replaced seals and gaskets and it still dies if I turn the choke off. If I rev the engine And turn the choke off it stays running until I let off the throttle and then it dies. I'm a little aggravated with it at this point. Almost ready to give up. Kinda sucks. The bike only has 510 miles in it but it sat for 13 years

@@HarmlessOSRS ...yes, I took the carb back out and decided to check the jets and clean them again just to be certain that I didn't miss anything. I discovered that they still had a bit of gunk even though I thought they were clear. I let them soak for a few hours and used compressed air to blow them out and put the carb back together (again). Installed on the bike and it fired up and now runs like a new machine. I've been riding ever since.

It could be a lot of things. It could need a clutch as it gets hot and does not hold as well. Without see bike it would be a stab in the dark

Mine would sputter out in a block or two in that scenario (fully warm, short cooldown, then start and blast off). Turns out the heat from the warm engine would go into the tank when parked and the tank would rapidly cool when blasting off, creating a vacuum that starves the bike of fuel.

Hey mate, had the same problem a couple of days ago myself and finished the job this afternoon. These videos helped me a lot, particularly the 3rd one. Also check the kawasaki ninja forums, as they were very helpful. Make sure you actually read the forums and watch the videos closely, if I had; I would have saved a lot of time. The last video I have linked was probably the most helpful to me, being inexperienced on this level. The first 2 videos I linked are helpful but make this a VERY big job. Which may be necessary for carb.
