FYI: I had issues with the carburetor on this bike, and the clutch was extra Grabby and sticky. Bike would just launch. After few adjustments got it straight. Had to replace carburetor also. 👍

My routine: I kick start my 2006 KDX200 3 times - wonder why it isn't starting - realize I haven't turned the petcock to ON - kick once more - enjoy the glorious braap!

Sorry to hear about that. Hope someone finds it and you get it back.

The suspension on my 89 kdx has been beefed up. I'm 5 '10" and the seat hits me about my belt buckle . I'm 62 and not as limber as I used to be and I have hell getting on mine on flat ground. But once I get on it it goes like hell

Sounds great. Very similar exhaust note as a 87 Fourtrax 250r I used to own.

My 96 kdx is the first water cooled kdx i owned a 1980 kdx 175 back in 1987 it was sharp realy like mine i got now

I've been trying to find a replacement fuel tank for mine with no luck. The joys of an old bike....

Where can I get an aftermarket pipe for my kdx 200 ,1990 mine smokes a lot too lol , nice beautiful bike it’s a beast I’ve put mine through hell and back and still starts on first kick

I cant help but laugh, opening the throttle when the choke circuit is engaged deletes the choke.

Ive never seen a kdx that tall... How is the suspension for your weight??

Previous owner had the suspension done a KPS suspension. So it's all beefed up for a taller rider. I'm only 5'7 in height 👍

What model is this bike? Oh and can you put more modern plastics like the 2006 kdx plastics on the 2000 kdx , is it possible?

It's a 1989 Kawasaki KDX 200, the newer plastics are different and they won't fit. Because they changed the frame on the later models. 👍

@@BraapEffex but didn't the water cooling begin from the 2000 model , and all the water cooled kdx are the same frame? That's what I heard , is this false?

If you have a 2000, the 06 plastic will work. They are virtually the same bike.

No catchment bottle for the radiator overflow.......... You might want to fit that back on !!!, Nice bike though. Cheers

No helmet? What's with you man.

You're running too rich - either oil/gas ratio or carb jetting. No richer than 40:1 oil to fuel - I run 50:1 with no problems. Looks like you need to lower the needle 1 position or even 2. you WILL have KIPS valve problems running that rich - lean it out. Way too much smoke on hard acceleration!
