I always envy people who can comfortably walk into large fabric shops in busy cities! I find the crowds, the constant moving lit advertising, and the noise overwhelming. The green silk taffeta you found is absolutely stunning! Green is my favourite colour.

The shops were much quieter than the streets. I was often the only customer in small shops and the bigger shops didn’t differ much from the ones in Helsinki.

Thanks! Alas, the lace didn’t match with my base layer color but thw trims will play an important role.

I'm glad you had a good visit and got lucky with the weather. I do avoid Times square as much as possible, tend to go on the Bryant park side of things when in the area. The store at 6:48 used to have a large (well fed) orange cat to whom you had to pay a petting tax on the stairs up if he was sitting there.

I think that the Garment District was the first ”sight” that I mentioned to my husband when he suggested the trip!
