Katie's Kitchen: Eggs Benedict
Музыка
Eggs Benedict has been my favorite breakfast dish to order out for quite a while now, so I figured it was high time I learned how to make it. 😋
Thank you @JuliannePetersen for coming over to film & edit this video, and for adding such a creative interpretation to my shoulders popping.
Disclaimer/warning: this was filmed several months ago before I had mastered using a sous vide, and you do NOT put eggs straight into the water like this 🙈 I am relieved that I didn’t ruin the machine.
Recipe: I took a little here and there from different recipes online, but here is one to reference:

Hi Katie pretty cool god bless you all
Haha…Katie is the cutest thing ever…especially when she’s cooking! Kudos to her for doing it, because so many people don’t even try these days. But you’ll always be glad you put forth the effort, because there’s just nothing better, or healthier, than cooking for yourself and eating at home. Yay Katie (and Julianne) for such a fun, funny and helpful video. 😊
I don't speak english, I am French but i want say : Katie you are an angel.
Katie and Julianne cooking videos are so fun to watch. I hope you do more in the future.
Thank you for being real! I love your music, most notably your originals which bring a little humanity and feeling to this crazy world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Can’t wait to see where your talent takes you.
When poaching an egg you should swirl the water with a spoon then crack the egg into the water. The swirling motion of the water will wrap the the egg whites perfectly around the egg yolk.

A true masterclass in Home cooking indeed Katie. Your kitchen skills surpass any that I have seen in my time on this Earth. (Your buttering prowess however could do with a little fine tuning). Im glad your U.P.S crush is coming on in leaps and bounds. ..I loved the little wave you gave him. Stay safe
Katie should have her own cooking show. She is so amazing and amusing. 🤗

What I like about it, and the Petersens in general, is the authenticity. No pretense. Just look at the kitchen. It's so retro. She even has a garbage compactor from the 1970's! No slick top-end appliances and granite countertops. Just like the rest of us live.
You two are the cutest cooking duo. There is so much more insight to your family in these videos than your music videos, I love them !!!
I love when people try new things! Awesome! Couple tips for those eggs (if you are interested). Don't crack the eggs on the side of a bowl or jar as that causes the shell to go chaotic. Try just gently tapping them on the counter. Also, those precious egg whites :-) You can save them and make meringues or something else delicious, yummy! If you get a little shell in the yolk also don't stress, you can actually use the remaining egg shell in your hand to fish it out (shell is attracted to shell). Great job!
This cooking demo also demos why The Petersens are so popular. A natural ability to perform. A wonderful warm vibe.
Well, this was something different. So fun to watch. Thank you Katie. And Julianne for editing.
I'd normally pass on the chance to watch a cooking demonstration, but I knew Katie would make this video entertaining! Good job with the production, Julianne!
KATIE'S KITCHEN!!! Oh how I've missed you. Such a pleasure to watch you in the kitchen. It's always an....."adventure." Thank you for sharing, Kiddo. You never fail to put a smile on my face. God bless. BTW: Great job, Jules. You've got a gift for video production.
I don’t watch Katie‘s kitchen to learn how to cook, I watch it for the pure entertainment value! And of course there’s that great background music with the deep lyrics and the wonderful videographer! I suggest auctioning off a meal at Katie’s kitchen, but I suppose you have to work for UPS to qualify 🤣 Appreciate you all… Now I’m off to a local California cuisine to order eggs Benedict!
I've missed these so much! They are my favorite thing on KZread! Thanks for bringing them back.
What a great day. The whole fam live, and these 2 adorable ladies displaying some of their other skills. Katie you really are such a cutie. I have never been jealous of a UPS guy before lol. Julianne you do a great job with the edits and capturing the goings on of the family. Y'all make everything fun. Thanks! Would love to hear you guys try The Sweetest Gift. Many great versions out there. The Gibson Brothers have a good one, and of course the Trio. Linda, Emmylou and Dolly killed it. Have a great day and a safe rest of the year too.
Oh my, this so made my day! When I saw you live in March and asked when we were going to see another cooking video I wasn’t sure if you would do one! So darn fun! Thanks to Julianne for filming and editing! And with the exception of some under cooked bacon it looked delicious! Love these videos! Love your musical talent! God bless you!
Chef Katie: To separate egg yolks, have a bowl instead of your super classy trash can, and after cracking the shell in half simply (over your bowl, NOT your beloved super classy trash can) pour the egg yolk/whites back n forth into each shell half several times allowing the whites to fall into your bowl. Essentially you are passing the yolk carefully from shell to shell while skillfully allowing the whites to drop out. Ok you got this!!! Love your Classy Katie’s Kitchen Trash Can! Seriously !😐
Two Petersen videos today! Life is good 😊
The best moment of our dearest Julianne would be the taking of a moment for prayer & thanks for receiving such a wonderful repast, compliments of Chef Katie.... Enjoy!
Thanks for the hilariously cute and cheerful video! You guys are such a blessing♥️♥️♥️
World class violinist; beautiful vocals; Excellent music director; quite lovely inside and out out...And master chef to boot!! God blessed Katie with all the tools!

Concordo con tutto quello che hai scritto! Aggiungo che la cosa che conta di più è che Katie continui a cantare e suonare il violino come sa fare solo lei. Ciao.
Katie is practical, interesting, with a smile that makes everything seem so simple. That recipe I would love to know. Bravo Katie ... go ahead
This is sooo good!!! Julianne is definitely the queen of editing!! 😊
There are many ways to demonstrate courage. Cooking a complicated meal while being recorded is an underappreciated example. Thank you for sharing this!
I had soooo much fun watching you and Julianne in the kitchen. You two are funny, cute and I just love you both for making the time to "cook for us".
10:28 - Oh, my, I was laughing pretty hard at this whole clip. What a roller coaster ride! Kudos to Julianne for adding the romantic French music. And the music in the epilogue… hah, wow, you're a pro!
Bravo, Julianne, for this master piece of a cut! It felt almost like sharing the kitchen with both of you :-) Admirations, Katie, for surviving so much "stress"! ^_^
2:34 I worked in the ER for a couple of years and I must say we saw A LOT of this. I was grinding my teeth when I saw Katie attempt this.
You 2 make a great team. Watching the recipe this morning and your 4th live performance this afternoon in England is a perfect day.
There is nothing about this video I don't love. From the Benedict Cumberbatch picture, to cast iron, to Katie's infectious smile and goofiness.
Dude I just watched The Petersens August 2021 concert, and this vid was suggested (have not watched it yet honestly). I am so impressed with the talent your family has. I am an old guy with minimal guitar talents, but I appreciate beautiful music when I hear it. Most importantly I am a Christian, an MU grad (PhD Chemical Engineering '97), and in this clown world, seeing you and your lovely family perform is so awesome. My boy is a violinist...adopted from Korea and when he was a toddler he caught me watching a Led Zeppelin video with Jimmy Page playing guitar with a violin bow. That led to playing an old ukulele with a drum stick, to his current status as a pretty good violinist in the Columbus (OH) Youth Symphony Orchestra. I sent him your August 2021 vid -- he needs to learn fiddle! Sorry for telling you my life story, but I love your family and your music has helped me a lot the last couple of years. Peace and God Bless!
Hey, Katie and Julianna Thank you and to all of your siblings for your voices and songs! Also i started to watch this video and, you made it it in such interesting way that i didnt even noticed i made it till the very end of it. And now most certainly will check you other kitchen vids, thank you and God bless!🙂
Oh man you girls are so hilarious. You never popped untill you turned 30 and now your are a popstar.
When you keep discovering new talents everyday Katie, life’s a joyful journey 💕

You kept me rolling with laughter. Thanks for who you are, Katie.
I was nervous at first, but it actually turned out surprisingly well! Props Katie!
Katie's Kitchen is a big reason why I'm a patreon! Of course, her fiddle playing is icing on the cake!!! 😉
Damn, Katie! Don't throw the egg-white away! You can still use it for several delicious cakes etc! Other than that FUN, FUN, FUN!
How nice to see the human being behind the musical instrument, on a normal day, like preparing eggs. Kind regards Katie

Great video. Great editing. Can't believe the timing with the ups! Good stuff. Thanks for sharing!
The sounds that Katie makes while cooking should be made into an album!
Someone is in the Kitchen with Katie, someone in the kitchen is with Katieeeeee... oh, it's Julianne! Fun video, always fun to watch you guys having fun! My bacon secret is to bake it in the oven at 450 for about 15 minutes or until crispy to your liking!
We in Germany say: Lecker! 😋 Very funny video, Katie. Please, do more of them but singing in the same time. 🤪 Greetings with love from Germany!
I listend to "The Ring Song" before this one (I got this video recommended) and i still have that "I practiced on my cooking" in my ear. That's why I'm here. I'd say time well spent and yes you did a good job on this classic dish
I have new appreciation for the complexity of Eggs Benedict (made from scratch, and done right)
Katie is a much better violinist than a cook, but the video was still a lot of fun. Katie is my favorite - she's great.
Absolutely adorable!
1:21 Pro Tip: Crack your eggs on a FLAT surface rather than an edge, makes getting shell fragments less likely.
There was way too much cuteness in this video. :) The only thing that wasn't cute was Katie opening the worcestershire sauce bottle with the knife and barely missing herself. I held my breath during that part. :)

A big thumbs up Katie! Thank you!

That was fun to watch. I tried that once, thinking along the same lines as you. They turned out "OK" but there are a lot of steps involved and it all has to come together at the right time.. I think I'll just order them from the menu going forward.
So glad I read the description and was prepared before you dropped the eggs in the sous vide. 😮 My favorite thing to sous vide is pork tenderloin. Pink pork isn't for everyone but it's so good.
katie, you are hilarious!! So naturally entertaining and funny. Also adorable!
It’s fun to see you in every day life instead of performing all the time. We get to see that you’re just like us. Nice video.
I have been tempted to try that, but was scared that I would mess up my Sous Vide immersion stick by putting the eggs directly in the water. Now that Katie has shown us that it actually does work, I may get brave this weekend! Thanks Katie!!!

@@katiepetersen Yep. I was yelling for you to stop, but it turns out you could not hear me. As I expect you now know, the eggs stay in the shell, and the temp is rather low, to,just set the whites and begin to set the yokes a little. Hence the 1.5 hours or whatever it said. But I loved you vid. Thanks for sharing some of your light with us here in Internet Land.
