I remember meeting her in Kuwait as we transitioned back from Iraq. She sat down and just chatted with us for hours. No hype, no jokes, just a sweet Kathy hanging out with some battle worn soldiers. She had an opinion and she expressed herself, but she’s a true patriot. Kinda ironic she had the balls to go to a war zone but the lump she made fun of didn’t.

What did she do that is ballsy? Dissing a media mogul who already was fired and cancelled and an other media mogul that will not invite her anyway is not risky. Kathy's behaviour throughout her life, the way she's handled the storm of protest since the Trump picture and the way she continues to find ways to thrive despite continued attacks from prominent Trumptards and those in the media. There are many people who would crumble after receiving death threats and that level of vicious scrutiny yet Kathy still speaks out against the Trump administration and their treatment of immigrants, women and LGBT people. I'm sure she'd have a much easier life if she just kept her mouth shut yet she refuses to be silenced.

@@bweb6 I understand your view but I disagree tbh lol. I don't think it's so hard to not go read the comments about you, mainly when it comes from idiots like that. Being on the no fly list and watched after by authorities is annoying too but it's only for a short time anyway and she still was a super rich person with a wonderful health, loving family etc. I don't think it's such a hard thing as she made it to be. Actually she was nearly ot on TV anymore and wasn't big on YT either. After that she was invited to discuss it in the biggest talk show and also was invited partially to tell the story by major youtubers, two publics that were nearly never having her on for years before the incident. Basically not being silenced benefits her a lot imo. it relaunched her career and reminded people out of her fanbase who she was. She, wisely, used it to make lemonade so I bet that this story is already rather a blessing for her than anything. :)

Let's hope America gets saved next year, Kathy knows so much truth.

@thowe624 Not true. The stock market was stagnant for the last two years of Obama's final term, then shot up like a rocket the day after Trump was elected. The DJI is up over 9,000 points since the day after Trump was elected.

I was ok watching this as a dark comedian myself commenting through a ghost account, but 37:40 broke me. you can hear her voice shake when shes mentioning "I love every minute of it. I do every show like its my last, because it might be..*laughs to lighten it* ". after what shes been through after the mask and ketchup ordeal, which i've been with her through for years, i can't imagine how she truly feels without mentioning all jokes aside, fully knowing what these "powerful" people get away with so you have to fight fire with fire or they will permanently extinguish you.. i truly think shes become a little rightfully paranoid that shes always being watched with a red dot on her forehead simply turned invisible but trailing her. I mean fuck..these days half of us normal people get paranoid too given the environments we've become products of. WE LOVE YOU BITCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. we all gon get through this. like you said, its gonna be messy for now, but it has to be to reset things to an okay state.

She has a channel on youtube...she's done a few video's so far -- if you haven't seen them. I think it's fairly new.

The only thing I blame Kathy for as far as the "severed head incident" is that she apologized for it.

No one should have to go through what she has gone through given she hasn't even broken the law. I think she will have a paid gig in America though in the future. Possibly when the current president is out of the white house. I think it's great she is still doing what she loves doing and this isn't letting it stop her. From the beginning this would have stopped a lot of people from doing all this and to go in to hiding for a few or many years.

Kathy Griffin has always been inspiring to me, in many ways, but she is now officially a national hero. *WE'RE NOT WORTHY*

@Ran Like I said I thought the photo was in VERY poor taste. But I think she’s a natural-born comedian and should be allowed to do her job...which of course she’s doing again. I think she’ll be fine - she has a cult following now and will grow a new audience and this will all fade into the past like it should. It’s hard for people to stay in the present moment and forgive. I do wish she would say that she regrets it for the violence the photo conjures up. I like Roseanne too, although I thought her new show was embarrassingly unfunny. But to the point here: that’s what we’re taught do...we like to make enemies. Kathy did it too. I just wish we could talk about the issues without specifically trying to divide people. I think she’s best at comedy...her timing is impeccable & I love listening to her tell a story. I’m not always in agreement with her politically/I’m more of a libertarian if anything. But it’s tough b/c everything is so political now. I wish George Carlin was alive to talk about the Kathy thing. I think this issue boils down to two things: 1) political correctness is cancer and 2) we like to punish people. I’m not into either one of those things.

I LOVE 4 Rooms! Kathy was amazing in that movie (and also stars Tim Roth, Madonna, Ione Skye, Antonio Banderas, Bruce Willis, Marisa Tomei, etc.).. It's just a fantastic film. Iirc, there are 4 different directors involved, including Quentin Tarantino (who makes a cameo) and Robert Rodriguez, and there are 4 different intertwining narratives centered around Tim Roth's character the lone employee on new year's eve at a "luxury" hotel. There are witches, a dead hooker, gangsters, high stakes gambling and devious children. Kathy plays the hotel's manager or assistant manager (?), who takes the night off leaving Tim Roth's character alone during the night shift on new year's eve, as things spin out of his control he repeatedly calls Kathy throughout the night for advice. It's a very fun watch, even just for Kathy's vignettes.

I think it's a small audience, and it's probably a smaller studio, so I think the producers didn't want to mic the audience cuz it would sound weird in a non acoustic studio

I think she has a lot to be proud of in terms of the infrastructure she's built in the wake of the photo. She's been in the business for quite some time and the photo created an environment where she was no longer tethered to a standard career model. The interesting aspect is the degree to which her career has evolved; sure, it was a rocky road, but it eventually gave her the ability to create a space for herself that no other comic has really been able to establish. She has international fans and is able to travel to some areas that most American comedians can't because their humor doesn't translate or they aren't recognizable in the mainstream.

Hate the annoying interviewer, but Kathy is fantastic, looks amazing, and is just so intelligent and well-spoken. Just the best!

We share similar stories, but she has bigger cajones! ❤ I always wanted to go to one of her shows, but couldn't afford it because I'm on disability, but I have always been on her side.... even if I do live in TN,❤😂😂
