I've got a home up in that kingdom. For slave spirituals sometimes the words are pronounced as they use to sound. For instance: "dat" versus "that" OR "gonna" versus "going-to" OR "in-that" versus "ina-dat" Hope this was helpful! I love Kathleen Battle too

I pretended to be tone deaf so she could tutor me after class; and this is the song was the one we worked on ; she was so very sweet, had the fragrance of candy, the visage of fairy tale princess and that Seraphic voice...this went on a few days until Ms Baker my music teacher exposed me explaining to her student teacher {Kathleen} that I was section leader for the Tenors and that I had perfect relative pitch ;-)

She closed her beautiful eyes briefly, pursed her lovely lips, shook her head then opened her eyes, smiled and hugged me ; "I expect better of you from now on Young Man " I never faked it again :-)

I never heard spiritual songs sung this way, this is brilliant !!!!!!!!! She is amazing ! Please please please someone tell me where can I find music sheet for this !!! Or other Spirituals she sang ...

@@inTruthbyGrace Amen. It is also written: Psalm 92: 1 "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High"

The mix was a little bad on this recording but there are some really cool passing chords in that piano arrangement.

軽やかに天に召される歓びをうたって、美しくももの悲しいですね。エンディングが素敵で永遠感がたゆとうていますね。歌詞の訳、すてきですが、字幕で2番が「あたしは、おうちをいただいた」３番が「あたしは、衣をいただいた」とあるのは、逆ですね。ちぃと残念。 (Soft, decent, happy and heartrending. A bit sorry that the Japanese subtittles mistakenly wrote "robe" for "home".and vice versa)
