Not really since she’s accusing Kelly of something she didn’t do. She never accused Regis being unkind in the book. All she said is that they weren’t friends that their relationship was purely professional and they respected each other. Also it’s kind of hypocritical for her to imply that Kelly doesn’t have the right to talk about her experience with Regis in her personal memoirs when Kathy Lee did the exact same thing. Now granted she never accused Regis of anything in her memoir but then again neither did Kelly.

I’m so glad she’s speaking the truth!!! Kelly Ripa doesn’t get along with ANY working partner she’s had.

Kathie Lee really loved Regis. Whenever his college alma mater would lose, she would call him to see how he was doing.

I won't be reading it either. I never watched Kelly after Regis left HIS show. I always loved watching Regis. He had such a sense of humor. He is truly missed.

A little of K Ripa goes a long way. I stopped watching her two days after she came on the scene. Reminds me of a jr high cheerleader who never gave it up. She and her husband are always the “haves.” Everyone else .. the “have nots.”

That’s terrible and sad about Kelly writing a book about Regis if it’s negative. I’m sick of some people and their books. I guess she must need the money and heartless.

I value Kathie Lee’s opinion far more! She’s always been kind and loving to everyone! Kelly is so low to write such a thing! Regis is not here to defend himself!

Actually she isn’t. In the first place she’s accusing Kelly of saying things she never said in that book. She never accused Regis of being unkind. It’s also hypocritical because Kathy wrote her own memoir in which she mentioned Regis, something she said Kelly had no right to do. So she’s allowed to do it but Kelly isn’t?

Give us the time stamp in the video where Kathie Lee says Kelly had no right to talk about Regis. You're putting words in her mouth. She said she reacted to a headline. She said she hoped the headline wasn't true. She made it clear she hasn't, and won't read the book so she doesn't know what is in it. Like most of us, she's just reacting to media reports on the book and, IMO, gave Kelly the benefit of the doubt by saying she hopes the headlines aren't true. She never accused Kelly of saying anything. As to the OP's comments, I like Kathie Lee despite being a so-called 'Godly Lady', not because of it. :)

My dad was an carbon copy of Regis. When I lost him, I would tune in to watch and some how I could see a grin or twinkle or wink, a connection ... ADORED REGIS. No headline or book can change that.

I never been a fan of someone writing a tell all book after the person is dead! I think that's really classless JMO! Good for Kathie don't read it!

When Ripa first started on “Live”, I liked her. But I noticed over time she started to show a behavior that looked very “Diva like”. After the Michael Strahan issue, it was no longer any question about how she felt about her importance IN THIS WORLD. I haven’t liked her for a very long time. I don’t need to. She likes herself enough for every person that ever lived.

I remember when Regis was interviewing women (people) to replace Kathie Lee Gifford and HE PICKED Kelly Ripa from a LONG list of candidates!!! His interviewing process went on for a LONG time (months) until he thought that he'd picked the RIGHT person for the job!!! She was ALREADY in the entertainment industry, but Regis is the one who gave her, her job as co-host!! Why would she slander his name and reputation after ALL THIS TIME??!! I'm thinking too, what is the point in all of this??!!!

I was a guest onThe Regis Philbin Show, without Kathie. He was kind and respectful of all my coleagues. Yes, we freaked him out. We were half a dozen Bellydancers!

Regis was such a fascinating man and a great story teller. Been a fan a long time since his days in San Diego.

I had an opportunity to meet Regis. Was out at a restaurant in Greenwich CT that he and his wife Joy frequented. This must have been 2005-2006ish (?). The maitre d’ knew my relative very well and wanted to bring Regis over to say hello to our table. Of course I was using the bathroom when this all happened LOL. When I got back to the table I was chided about missing this once chance encounter. But my family said he was a perfect gentleman. In light of anything Ripa says, it’s hard to believe her anyway given her track record as a class A beyotch.

Kelly is trying to garner sympathy and subtly throw Regis under the bus. It's a shame he's not here to share his side of the story but then again that's exactly why this is coming out now. Which shows the type of person Kelly is.

How is she asking her what Kelly wrote when she said she never read the book and won't read the book? I think Kathy Lee Gifford handled this interview perfectly by only speaking of her experience with him was so lovely. They did have such an amazing chemistry on the show.

I’ve read the book. The headlines blow things out of proportion. As they usually do. Glad Kathie Lee didn’t knock the book. She just stated her reality. A good response.

When I read what she said Regis said, it was so obviously a joke. Definitely his sense of humor and not mean. I don’t know how she could know anything about him and call that piling on. I heard him say similar things on his show about others and it was always in good humor for a laugh and not malicious. I’ve really lost respect for Kelly Ripa for this and her tantrum losing a co-host.

I had a friend 20 years ago who was an attendant/manager of a belated comic and the comic was a guest on show. The manager said he never felt more uncomfortable backstage as the tension was beyond palpable especially when Rippa was in a snit. He never witnessed people employed by an entertainment show move so fast to make sure it didn’t bubble over. The comedian he was employed under wasn’t much better as he barked orders relentlessly & stated at the time that it’s the nature of the biz. Some people believe if they knock someone hard enough that they can own that pedestal. Her ego at that time had dominated the set with every threat she (allegedly) made. I tought he was exaggerating until Strahan flew the coup without saying a word to his co-host.

I was certain she'd be fired for her antics of refusing to show up for work for a few days. And her commentary upon her return was icy cold and entitled. I watched Regis and Kathy for 15 years and he had a great respect for Kathy Then I watched him with Kelly it wasn't the same!

Kathie Lee handled that very well.

Kelly always has had conflicts with everyone! That's a fact! Kelly should be thankful to Regis because without him she would still be the girl from Dance party USA.

Funny thing if Kelly is not on live I watch if she is on I change the channel.

Sounds like Kathie Lee has an understanding, appreciation and fondness for folks in older generations that Kelly just does not. Maybe that will change as time goes on. 👍😊👍

I loved Regis. He was a sweet man and one of those regular guys that you would like to meet. It isn't right to speak negatively or say anything that could be taken as mean about someone that isn't here to respond. Not right, not fair. Blessings to Regis~

Kelly Ripa has issues. She needs to reflect on herself. Remember how she reacted when Michael left? She acted like a spoiled brat. Never liked Kelly.

On one of my many visits to the US from the UK I started watching the show Regis and Kathy Lee at seven years old 1983 and like THe Carpenters thought they were married . It is so easy to think that because the rapport , and the chemistry between them was so strong and so close and magical very easy to think that , well found out shortly after that was not the case they were not married and same with The Carpenters not married but siblings for those who are not familiar with The Carpenters. The bond they shared Regis and Kathy Lee was unbreakable and they love each other's spouses and families and great relationships with each other's families . A friendship like that is very rare

I don't blame you Kathie. I wouldn't read her book either. You had much more class then she did. Just Michael leaving as he did. He knew as you did to leave.
