I'm from Russia. And for 4 years now I've been rooting for Katelyn Tuohy as if I were my own. She is a very talented girl. I wish her health and great victories! She reminds me of a very talented, young Russian skier, Olympic champion, Veronika Stepanova.

I always wanted a daughter and how proud her parents must feel. Then again there's the boys thing and I am sure I would be very protective of her. I am 81 now and barely walk , but watching her run brings back the memories of the basketball court and baseball field. That feeling of air on your face as you run through it. Thanks Katie.

It is sad that this attitude exists, anywhere, especially in High School and College. Respect should be given at 100%, always. It is up to each person's behavior whether they can keep it there.

If someone has a natural talent and strives to be better then that should be celebrated by her teammates and it seems as so her coach has instilled that in his team, they are treated no differently as the rest of the team, plus, it inspires her teammates to push harder and be better, who knows, one of them might beat her in the next 3 or 4 years.

It's probably because she's an actual nice person. The top players in our sports in highschool were assholes. Super cocky, didn't give props to anyone. I don't know her, but if I had to put money on it, I'd bet she's just genuinely a kind person.

@@mickeygarlock4611 Writing in March 2023, it is interesting to see her running with former NY state competitors Kelsey Khmiel and Brooke Rauber, now NC State teammates. Kelsey, from Saratoga Springs, used to beat her when she was in 8th and 9th grade, and again when KT was a freshman at State recovering from an injury. Last season Kate and Kelsey finished all the XC races 1-2 (I think). In any case, Nuttycombe, the ACCs and the NCAA champs.

When we were practicing the mile she had practice, so basically it was 4 laps= 1 mile. When it was curved you could walk but when it was straight you would run that’s what the coaches would tell us to do, loads of people would be out of breath just starting and then there was her running the whole mile then when she finished she’d stop during one of the curves then doing it again.

Katelyn Tuohy is definitely a rare talent in America and she is already 18. No offence to the Americans although I have a lot of admiration for this fledgling American track and field star, but she is still far from the elite Kenyan and Ethiopian women runners. Katelyn Tuohy does have better training resources as compared to the African runners of her age and she may probably end up with at most a bronze medal one day in World meet or Olympics.
