One of my VERY favorite holiday songs since childhood. Now that my parents have passed, it means even more to me! Sing it, Kate!

Love Kate! My Aunt won a competition which moved her on to competing with Kate Smith many, many years ago but being a farm girl she decided to decline and stay on the farm and take care of Grandma. I think this is Kate's absolute best Christmas song, although anything she does is Aces with me.

We had this song on a Christmas record when I was a kid, got lots of play at Christmas time. My parents and brother have all passed away, and now for some reason, when I hear it it brings me to tears. And I'm not a guy who cry,s easily, but Kate smith and this song gets me everytime.

We are in the same boat. My Mom had Christmas with Kate Smith and started playing this album on Thanksgiving. Makes me cry also and I don't cry often. Stay safe and well

It's great to hear what this song REALLY sounds like, lyrics and all; I'm in the clarinet section of my school's band and we'll be performing this at our annual christmas concert.

When I was about 9 or 10 years old, I used to play this song from a Christmas songbook my piano teacher gave me. I forgot about this song for years, until one day it just popped into my head. I immediately wondered, "Why do I never hear this song during the holidays?" Well, I still don't know the answer to that one, but it was great hearing it in September on youtube. Merry Christmas everyone!

This was standard TV entertainment in America when I was a kid. Bing and Kate....2 classics with a lot of class. This is right up there with "God Bless America" and "White Christmas" what we associate with them both. Excellent.

People aren't aware that late in her career she became a gigantic seller for RCA Victor mostly doing albums of contemporary material and the latest hits masterfully. Unexpectedly, she got a younger audience as well as her older following. She was delighted.

Classic! What a great performance! I never hear this song at Christmas though. Why is that? I was about nine years old when my piano teacher gave me a book of Christmas songs for piano. This song was in there and I always loved the melody. But if I had never played it on the family piano, I don't think I would have ever heard it. I play percussion in my local volunteer community band, and I would love it if the director could find a decent arrangement of this song so we could play it at our Christmas concert this year.

+Hallrk63 My thoughts exactly. I never hear it played on the radio during the holiday season. If I hadn't been introduced to it by my piano teacher when I was a kid, I probably wouldn't know it today. I wish this version had the intro.

As a youngster I had the pleasure of attending " Kate Smith Live In Concert !" at The Temple University Music Festival in Ambler, Pennsylvania. That was back in the day of Ambler being nothing but fields, then once it became the newest desired destination of suburbanites the land was too expensive to keep a nice theatre on the premises, so it was torn down to put up a shopping center and a parking lot. But Kate Smith did put on a nice show for us as I do recall .

What can you say about this beautiful song sung by the WORLDS BEST, MISS KATE SMITH. Regsrdless of what these nitwit people say about her today she was the best. This Country has forgotten all the good she did and the talent she had. This is one of the reasons this Country is in such terrible cockeyed shape, no Kate Smith, sad.
