ALL children are treated as children. In those days, my parents took their vacations ALONE and left us with our grandparents (which we preferred). We have continued the tradition. ONLY THIS LOT of silly writers thinks that both ways are right and wrong. Diana did it to be obstinate she resented the heck out of the Queen. A baby is usually better off with grandparents or the nanny. That is a decision the parents make. The BEST option was when the Middletons would move into the Cambridge home and be the child sitters when William and Catherine were gone (as they did when the little guys were tiny).

A lovely family. Precious children.

Also, "Louis" in the UK, and much of Europe, is pronounced "Loo-wee" not "Loo-iss," making him Prince Loo-wee.

Pops is a nick name for Dad. It has nothing to do with soda pop. In fact its very affectionate.

During Harry & Megan's wedding, Harry said "Thanks, Pop" to Charles for walking Megan down the aisle. (Sorry if someone has already told everyone this.)

Charles has adored Camilla for over 50 years. Elizabeth had eyes for NO ONE after she saw Prince Philip when she was 13 years old. Love is universal. So is lust for money; that's what I see in MM's crafty eyes when she gets near Harry.

"Pops" ? I did expect something a bit more "too cute" than that. Considering a lot of the royal children have called their father Papa, Pops isn't too far off.

Kate and William are great engaging parents. You can tell George Charlotte and Louis are loved, the center of their parents and one strong family unit. Princess Diana would be proud. Just like Kate's parents who are active grandparents.

Diana was mentally ill. The things she did will not be forgotten (for the harm they did to the boys). They do NOTHING the way that their mother did; she caused much pain. There is a reason they mention "mental health" in every discussion of Diana. Her fans cause the boys MUCH heartache. They do not remember her as a "loving parent" but as complex human being who did much harm, and who left them BEFORE they could resolve their issues with her (they did a LOT of "ignoring her" because they didn't want to "get her going" again).

So glad I read the comments before waiting 12 minutes for an answer.

You seem to forget that Diana and Charles took William when he was about a year old to Australia also.

“Pops” is the short version of Papa, which all the male royals are known as. It is left from their German ancestors and all the royal fathers use it. Louis is by the way pronounced “Louie” It is french in origin.

In Italy, pops and poppa and pa- pa, use to be used alot. Even a song was written and sung by a famous Italian singer. It went " oh my poppa", you are so wonderful, oh my poppa I love you so , very much. Oh my poppa, you are so good to me, oh my poppa you are so dear to me. I believe this song came out in the 50ish... It was a tremendously popular song back then. It sometimes was known to make people cry, especially if they really loved their father or had lost their father. It was a heart warming song. So pops has been around a long time. A true name of endearment.

"Pops" is a normal name for fathers or grandfathers here in the UK! I was expecting something with a story behind it. I waited more than 10 minutes to find out he calls his Dad something many UK children call either their father or grandfather!

I was a combat medic in the US Army from 2008 to 2014, which involved a lot of work with Medivac pilots-essentially the American version of William’s job in the British military-and both jobs are EXTREMELY difficult to do during wartime. I’ve compartmentalized my experiences by flat out refusing to acknowledge it. This obviously isn’t healthy but if I allowed myself to truly feel the emotional impact of the things I’ve seen, I wouldn’t be able to handle it and my life would crumble to pieces. What’s the sense in that? This is the only regret I have of serving my country. It’s a noble decision to make, it feels good when strangers want to shake your hand and say thank you but the personal cost is staggering for some.

William is a great father for the royal kids but my father is the best for me
