Kate Bowler with Anne Lamott - No Cure for Being Human | Conversations with Authors

Buy the book here ► www.bookpassage.com/book/9780...
Kate Bowler believed that life was a series of unlimited choices until she discovered that her body was wracked with cancer. In No Cure for Being Human, she searches for a way forward as she mines the wisdom (and absurdity) of today’s “best life now” advice industry and instead finds that we're all as fragile as the day we were born.

oh Kate. I feel you. After I came home with my second son, my husband took our older one to the pool. After he left, I quickly started bleeding -- it was placenta that was not dealt with. Anywho, I was able to get the neighbors across the street to come over (pre-cell phones). while the husband called the pool and 911 had already been called, the mom ran to the closet and grabbed towels to try to stem the bleeding. She walked into the kitchen and I looked at her in all seriousness and said NO! those are the good towels! She looked at me for half a second, turned around and went to get other towels. Yep, we do this.

This was freaking *everything* I needed today (every day?) - both my soul sisters together, Annie and Kate, in one honest, nourishing conversation: how could it get any better? I easily had church _twice!_ ❣🙏🙏 (not to mention: as if any further confirmation was needed, Kate's friendship with Anne Lamott puts it beyond doubt she's my kind of people!)
