She wasn't pouting, she was adding extra texture to that big note. We singers do that a lot. When you have to hold a note for so long, you have to break it up, to give it even more impact. And yes, it is a great way to take a very quick breath. I noticed Megan's breathing was labored. She usually sails through her songs. It felt like she was out of practice.
