Some bands / artists I've been following for a long time are (among others) Massive Attack, Pink Floyd, Pet Shop Boys, Archive, A-Ha, Yes, Porcupine Tree, John Mellencamp, Jean-Michel Jarre, Metallica, Peter Gabriel and Perturbator. So my music will kind of sound like those (without ever reaching the greatness of those artists, of course). :-)

wow this is cool! It's a nice how the screen gives a visual feedback on the somewhat complicated aspect of FM synthesis. Must resist!

I'm actually surprised how great the old YM262 sounds when used in another context! And what a nifty little box Kasser has made for it.

You make my day. In a world of a flood of boring releases, you get us jazzed for some geekery. Isn't that the best part of the synth world?

To me, this is a device that fixes some of the problems I had with the PreenFM2 Not having feedback made the Preen a bit less fun. The menu was 100% frustration too. This seems like a good buy for taking advantage of multitimbral FM at a steal price.

How very cool. I like how the original OPL chip is displayed. I was just reading about FPGASID replacement for the SID chip. It would be cool to see a similar box featuring a SID-style chip.

Cool box. Always forget how useful the MPC is as an FX unit for external gear.

Thanks for watching! I have a playlist on my channel homepage with some tutorials. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZXZhkrmIj5q8lZM.html Generally, starting with 2 operators and dialing in more subtle values is a good way to start.

I have the OPL3 chip on soundcard in my vintage computer, which I plan to make music with using Adlib Tracker 2. The obly problem is I struggle to make instruments because FM is complicated. I wanna get this little box for FM instrument purposes but I have no midi controller and it costs many monies.

Thanks for watching! FM isn't that complicated... Stacking operators brightens up the sound. A little bit of practice and you'll be able to create exactly the sound you had in mind.

Haha! That was around the time when we started judging the quality of new synths by the quality of their piano sounds. I think most people didn't "get" FM until very recently. Back in the day, FM was all about cheesy e-pianos and power ballads. ;-)

You're right. I wrote a lengthy reply to a similar comment here about the dilemma indie developers will find themselves in when trying to sell DIY hardware in smaller quantities.
