    @@jadoniccryon5898 I believe it's not worth to go, as it doesn't provide a lot of sustain early (even with movespeed it doesn't make up for lack of combat rune), and gets outperformed by combat runes in fights. If you take it for sidelane sustain with precision page then you could just go roa with conq instead and both have more sustain and do more dmg

    As an 1M+ Mastery OTP Kassadin, I have to say that this is an absolute delight for me. I main Kassadin since season 1. I plan on watching this video over and over and over again. A pure gem. Thank you so much Aledos and Coach Curtis for this in depth guide. I am not nearly as good as Aledos but I can 1000% attest that poise is the most important part of Kassadin. My lack of poise is what causes half of my losses.

    Your insane Kassadin is my fav champion based on identity and emotional feel he brings to me. There is so much here i already rewatched it multiple times and will continue to do so bcs this feels kinda like learning music theory. At the start you watch that and go like WTF is a tonic and a dominate . WTF is even a chord what are harmonics, well you understand the words but not really the meaning of them. But if you come back after learning something else it kinda clicks and you get it. And if you come back again something else clicks. So thank you so much for this also Thank you Aledos for the work

    Amazing. I have started spamming malzahar after watching hours of your content, and he got me climbing steadily towards gold. I was in dire need for a substitute champ though, because malz was my first real foray into midlane, and i had a really hard time playing any other champ on midlane. Yesterday though, I picked Kassadin 2 times, one time becaus emalz was banned and one time because i was against malz, and I noticed that I had a really easy time picking him up, my mental stack remained pretty much intact. versing my own malzahar afte rplaying him for 130 games also really helped concentrating on playing my lane as kassadin and learning some basics, because i exactly knew what to expect. Because I have no experience with kassa though, this guide is now a literal godsent and will help me add him to my pool once I get more mastery with malz. Thank you so much!

    UPDATE: I have just reached Gold for the FIRST TIME since Season 9, Playing 100 Games of Malzahar and 55 Games of Kassadin this split, climbing all the way from Bronze 3 to gold using only those two. I am so happy that I finally got to learn this champ, and took the courage to pick him up with the help of this guide. Malzahar was absolutely perfect for learning so many midlane fundamentals that I was lacking, and it made me confident enough to believe that I can learn to carry with Kassadin. Now I have two very different Champions to choose from, both of which I feel very confident in being able to win. It feels like playing one of the two really enriches my ability to get creative when playing the other. It really means a lot to me, and while Coach xblademojo's Malzahar guide helped kickstart my entire midlane journey, this guide and your podcast especially are playing a huuuge part in this learning process. Again, thank you so much. Ive been playing this game for 11 years, and only now I am getting so muchnew knowledge about this game, it's really eye opening for me.

They never waste their spells and even if they engage first it feels like the only thing I can do is to dodge skills with Ult. My last matcht against Yone was like this, we still won, but in lane phase i was busted. I was 0/2 slightly behind in CS. It felt like I couldnt aproach minions when he was there. Props to Curtis and Aledos i learnt alot about my favorite Champ!

    My way of thinking is that if you buy tear on first base you lose 400 gold getting nothing early game=falling from enemy midlaner in more assasin matchup after i buy roa i get tear and get lich bane to get damage early roa gives you on 12/13 lvl 1 more if you are enough fed you can just go rabadon 1 shot everyone or complete seraphs. Saw permaban playing like that and i feel is way to go because you fall behind early if you buy tear

  • @aledos1553

    @aledos1553

    11 ай бұрын

    You can definitely make an argument for tear skip, and it can speed up your early economy by a bit and give you earlier waveclear breakpoints and all of that. It can work if you want to reach an early item spike, it's been historically a very good choice to go tear only after roa finished. Nowadays with tear being a lot cheaper than back then, while providing insane value to kassadin tear skip is much less viable anymore. The thing about "falling behind" is that most of your early trades are gated by mana/ult stacks, which tear solves amazingly, so if anything tear on first base gives you the most opportunity to actually trade (obviously in some matchups it can be different with either catalyst or kindlegem or whatever you might be building) Chinese 1000LP+ superserver onetrick goes tear first every single game on fastest server out there too

    I think for solo queue, the assassin style will almost always be better because you are a bigger threat early

  • @aledos1553

    @aledos1553

    11 ай бұрын

    Bruiser style will mostly outscale assassin, so the higher elo you go the shorter the games get (mostly master 300LP+), so assassin setup gets better in a way, and lower elos where games tend to go longer, bruiser will likely outperform. Then again it depends on server too, in china probably you need the assassin setup more since theres so much early chaos happening, while in EU/NA conq setup thrives in a much more slower/controlled environment

    so my question is.. is Fleet footwork completely out of the game for Kassadin?

  • @aledos1553

    It recovers way too little health to be justified, and you're giving up a combat rune for it. Extended skirmishes conq definitely outperforms, while quick fights either electro or FS performs better. At that point you're left with conq for dmg AND healing or fleet for healing, at which point conq outperforms. So the only justification you could give it is laning or getting to the point where you have enough damage, where it's just neither required nor good enough to take it.

    Why not mention Comet more? Its a good rune choice into certaun harder lanes and blitza has been running it a lot

  • @aledos1553

    @aledos1553

    Main reason is that Comet generates value in lane once people actually can consistently properly tether your R range. If you would proc electrocute with just E-Q it would always outperform comet. Now unless you're 4-500LP+ people will never be consistent enough with tethering to a point where you wouldnt be able to proc either electro or firststrike. You can generate the same value by just positioning well, trading with right ability usage on cooldowns and such. You do not need comet to win these lanes until very high up (Where I still believe you don't need comet necessarily) Second reason is when people learn kassadin you want to reduce variables. Optimally you onetrick a rune setup until at least master tier 300~LP, and comet is much more of a niche page than any of the others. For lower elos/onetricking I believe comet to be a lot less consistent, with a less clear identity. Third reason is me not having played comet enough to form a clear opinion, I mentioned it and if you're curious about its strengths and weaknesses you can go ask blitza, as I personally have NOT played comet ever, I don't want to talk about something I don't fully understand or have experienced myself.

    Ok I play kassadin on platinum and emerald.. its hard to imagine a guide that don't focus on RoA for me. I don't fit into the high paced game with Crown, and I don't want to go tank... I think this guide lacked on how players like me (which the majority of the kassa players) to get to either styles

    I still get harddicked by everyone in the game playing Kassadin. It is always a zed or a yasou or a tristana or some other ad lane bully. In these matchup, is like i have to give up cs or else I am getting chunked for no reason. And I still die under tower and have my first tower done in under 10 minutes.

    It gives minimal sustain in lane since it's rework, you don't get more health back than a single auto attack over an entire lanephase for the most part. You get a slight movespeed buff but it doesn't make up for you lacking a combat rune. You could make an argument for midgame sustain and allowing you to stay on the map longer, but if you want to play that style ROA does solve that (and you only get back serious health if you hit Jg camps or enemies with fleet) Then we're left with sustain in fights which technically fleet does better, but your if you're assassin setup your fights are gonna be over SUPER fast, and if you're bruiser you highly rely on conq for damage. In harder matchups too you never really need fleet, since you can opt for dshield and such, use abilities correctly, take good resets with TP. You can even take resolve and that should all be enough to survive even the worst lanes.
