They won’t come even if we report an intruder/robbery, but they’re at Karen’s beck and call. I saw a case in the U.K. where an Indian man called about his mother, who was a medical emergency, but they didn’t send an ambulance. He had to keep calling. In his last call, he told them that she’d dìèd and called them out on the fact that they never sent help. Another case, a ME woman being stalked by her abusive ex-BF went to them for help but the police did nothing. She wasn’t going back to the ex over and over or anything; she was simply trying to get away. And the police did nothing until she and her mother were mùrdėred right on their front step. SMH I wish it would click for brown folks (that includes East Asians like Jåpanese folks, b/c they’re brown AF when they tan) that they’re not cared about either.

I'm white. I once called the police for domestic abuse in my own home that my boyfriend was only visiting. It took the cops over an hour to get there and then they wouldn't remove him because he was passed out drunk. When I got upset over it, they slammed me up against the wall. This was after I had been beaten. Police abuse and negligence happens to all colours of women.

This whole situation is so messed up. For one, I'm so glad the woman at the end said it. PEES CHARGES. These Karen types need to be held accountable. They need to learn the lesson that they cannot behave however they want and get away with it. Clearly no one taught them as children, so they need to learn that actions have consequences now. The other thing i think needs to be part of the conversation is everyone applauding this queen for how calmly and professionally she handled the situation. And I agree. She was amazing. Much calmer than I would have been. But the point there is, sadly, as a person of color, she kind of has to be. Because, as we all know, it's dangerous just to BE black in this country. So she really can't afford to be out here matching the Karen's energy and yelling right back at her even though that's exactly what Karen deserves to get, the fact is, this queen isn't SAFE to do that. Because of the police show up and she's gunning Karen what she rightly deserves, there's every possibility she'll be taken as a threat and it could go really bad. So as amazing as she is, keeping her composure and handling the situation with such class and poise, unfortunately she has to. She doesn't get the option of going off and trying to fight back when Karen tries to hit her. She doesn't get the option of using back or exhibiting any behavior that could be misconstrued as "aggressive." And I think people really need to talk about the inherent privilege in that too. The way white women are spread to be Karen's. They're allowed to scream and try to hit people, allowed to harass people, and they're never the ones in danger of the police show up. Even though the KAREN'S are the ones in the wrong! That in itself is privilege. The privilege to be able to act up without it putting your life at risk. And POC don't have that same privilege. They just don't. So of course I applaud the counselor, because she's amazing, no doubt. But it needs to be talked about how much of a difference there is in the way white people and POC are allowed to act. And at the very least, Karen should be charged with filing a false report for wasting the polices time. Because it's just ridiculous. They're sold be consequences for this crap. 100% agree

15:08 If we don’t handle it this way, especially as a BW, we will be deemed as angry, ill tempered, irrational, no matter how belligerent and intolerable the other person’s behavior is towards us. Even the BM Officer tried to gas light the BW as if she was being irrational by simply stating in an even tempered voice who she was. He didn’t like that she was a doctor not one bit. That BM was probably a Kevin Samuels fan. It’s disappointing but not surprising that he treated a BW that way. Not gonna lie, he should’ve just let Brad take charge on this one.

Thank you! Obviously, the way this counselor handled the situation is incredible. And she deserves all the accolades for it. But I wish more people would talk about WHY. And that as a POC, she doesn't have the luxury of acting up like that Karen does. She doesn't get to match that Karen's energy or yell. Coz of she does, then the police come and SHE the one who gets deemed threatening and aggressive, even if all she was doing was trying to defend herself from some psycho harassing her. The fact is POC don't have the same luxury of acting up or matching a Karen's energy, even to defend themselves. And that in itself is a privilege, that white women just GET to act like Karen's without putting their lives at risk. Like I said, that counselor is amazing. She got way more patience than I ever could, and she deserves all the applause. But I feel like we NEED to talk about the fact that she don't really have a choice and HAS to act that way, for her own safety.

So are you looking for someone?" Me: "Why would I be looking for someone?" Him: "Do you want me to call someone for you?" Me: "Why should I need you to call someone for me? Who are you?" Him: "I work for the office building owner. I have the code." Me: "I have the code, the key, the key and the security code and I will talk to Rick about how you profiled me. Now move out of my way so I can get back to my office after I talk to Rick". He was totally flabbergasted! Rick was so angry at this temporary worker of his. I hope this Sister moves out of that building and into another building that's more accommodating...that's 1. 2) For her to be a counselor I wish she would recognize Aggression as Aggression and NOT down play it micro aggression. That woman was being Aggressive, so Aggressive she almost became violent. When a person attempt to snatch something or hit someone it is an Aggressive act and a violently Aggressive act at that. We gotta stop downplaying the BS they do, It's OK for us to say they're aggressive because they have no problem saying we are. And the majority of the time they are saying that we are aggressive is what you would call Projection, them projecting their behaviors onto us so the law can be on their side. I also have a Master's in Psychology, and I will place the proper labels where they belong.
