She is NOT a nurse. She was misidentified. Her name is Amanda Martinez, and she is a manager at GameStop. The nurse who was mistaken for her, has been harassed, threatened, and her name has been tarnished, ever since. Sad that news outlets, media etc. cannot research their stories properly. Also, the soup wasn't hot at the time it was thrown. The woman had been home and back, with the soup, before she threw it. It's still wrong, of course, and the woman did suffer from spices in the soup, going into her eyes, and nose. Still, this news clip, is completely misleading. Oh and the real Amanda, who threw the soup, was arrested and charged with assault.

When I worked as a barista I once had a customer come in while I was in the back grinding beans. My co-worker was taking the clients order, made the drink, and handed it out. All of a sudden the woman starts denying the drink is incorrect (TLDR: she wanted a latte (lightly frothed milk) and asked for a cappuccino (lots of fluffy light foam). It was only by luck that I was able to figure out she mixed up the drinks. Before I could even make my way out front for damage control, she threw the drink at my friend. Coffee, guys, and thank fuck it was a cappuccino which has barely any liquid. And over something as stupid as not knowing the correct drink. There was a police officer at the window, luckily. So I pulled a report then and there. Little lesson: treat calmness with calmness. If someone is trying to help you calmly don't take your frustration out on them.

Everytime something goes wrong with an order, a product or a delivery or a service, I always try to be as calm as possible. And when I complain, 95% of the time, they're always polite and sincerely apologetic about what happened and I always say "Hey it's ok, these things happen and it's not exactly your fault.". They're always so surprised that I'm calm and understanding that it actually breaks my heart for them... Imagine how much yelling they take on a daily basis for them to be shocked when someone is calm about it! I end up getting some good discounts and freebies.

For real, I can’t even recall the sheer number of times I’ve had a situation resolved, or improved, just by being extremely polite to the people there. There are of course times when you need to be more firm (i.e. when someone is trying to take advantage of you), but in a hospitality type situation where an honest mistake has been made, it’s almost never beneficial to be the ‘squeaky wheel’.

Of coarse after you tell someone whos upset to stop being upset, what's gonna happen? 9 times out of 10, they get more upset. The manager should have done her job instead of standing up to the Karen. Little backstory first: This was during the month that we only had 2 employees, the manager and myself. She would open by herself in the morning and work half the day, I'd close alone working the other half. Busy day already, had to completely make bread twice (when we opened and when I came in, roughly 140 sandwiches, which is ALOT for any Subway). About an hour before close, lady comes in with a list for six subs, all ft long, all different with special requests, all toasted but not at the same time as each other, all just a headache. While I'm making the first one or two, a man and (I'm assuming) his daughter come in and wait in line. I overhear them talking about what they want, he ate at work and she just wants a 6 inch ham and cheese. I ask the lady if I can take their order real quick because it'll take literally 2 seconds to make, and because her order is gonna take around 20 minutes. She smugly said "no I'm in a hurry too!" so I just went on making her order. Fourth sandwich in, and she yells "what is that?!" I ask what? She says "the bread, I didn't say I wanted herbs and cheese!!" I show her the list she gave me, showed her what it said (which was herbs and cheese for ALL of the sandwiches), and she's still gonna have the audacity to look me dead in the face and say "but _I_ didn't say herbs and cheese for mine.." "You also didn't tell me which one _was_ yours." "I shouldn't have to, you should have asked!" And I lost it. Threw all 6 sandwiches in the trash, and yelled "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY STORE!" She tried to say something, I cut her off still screaming, "I don't give a fuck, get out of my store before I fucking drag you out!" She left, and I realized the father and daughter were still there.. I felt horrible, not for the lady, but for the kid, I could tell she was scared. The father was really cool about it, he didn't care near as much as I did, said if anything it would be a good lesson for his daughter on _why_ you treat people the way you want to be treated. I made their food for free and gave them the last of the cookies we had. Lady called the next day, spoke to the manager, who gave it to the GM, who apparently also told her to go fuck herself 🤣 found that part out a few months later. There was alot more back and forth between the lady and I, leading up to the moment, but most of it petty comments here or there that would just make this post longer than it already is. There were more moments, but they're usually just a "fuck you" "no, fuck you" and that's it.

All my job let me do was go home, turns out he and the gf were arrested for attempting to steal the items they couldn’t pay for. Not for the assault. They order a steak you don't roll your eyes at them for wanting it cooked a certain way. If the customer doesn't like a product you prefer and would like one that you think is lesser, smile and give them what they want. The bastardization of the statement is so that sketch comedians could make funny sketches based on backwards philosophy and people don't care enough to know where phrases come from or what is the context but y'all just go off about it anyway and compare it to shit like chivalry which wasn't anyway like media portrays it.

I actually enjoy customer service for the most part, but theres some people that are rediculous. I once had a guy rip into me when I explained that I was given the wrong address to deliver his pizza. He started yelling at me, and when I tried to show him the address on the ticket, how it was different than address on his mailbox; he wouldnt even look at it, just kept yelling at me about how thats what all the delivery drivers say everytime. Finally just got in my car and left without ever being able to show him what was going on. If he would have cooperated we could have gotten to the bottom of it. Probably could have fixed the issue by having online support manually change his address for online orders, the automated system didnt seem to accept his real address and changed it to the incorrect address, it happens sometimes.

Many people misunderstand where "the customer is always right" comes from. The entire phrase that doesn't get said in full anymore is "the customer is always right in matters of taste." For instance, if you are a suit tailor, sure, make suggestions when appropriate or asked for. However, if a customer is adamant of what fabric/color/pattern they want, you don't judge them for it or argue. You give them the choice that will make them happy. It's the same way about weird food combinations at a restaurant or even how they prefer their steak cooked. Beyond matters of preferences and taste, the customer is not always right. You do not need to let problem customers walk all over you. No store will ever get less business for refusing to put up with asshole customers.

The staff acknowledged that it happened, moved me to another wing, and then declined giving me any physical records from my time spent there. You can't just swap the goddamn containers. me: "She had no right to throw cold soup in that woman's face-" you: "you have issues-nothing warrants what she did" Did you even read my whole message? "we don't choose how somebody gets injured" dafuq are you talking about? what is your point? My point IS: She was obviously not injured. You can tell, by how she reacted (like somebody that got a pie in the face, not like the victim of a chemical attack) - and the fucking absurdity of the notion of a spicy soup causing a goddamn nose bleed. I get that not everyone has seen multiple instances of people getting horrific things in their eyes, from strong salsa to printing chemicals... however: Seriously, on this site - search for videos of somebody getting a pie in the face. Now, ask yourself - why a supposed chemical attack would result in an IDENTICAL reaction??? Or, why/how somebody would react to a pie made of whipped cream - in the same way as a chemical attack... It's. fucking. absurd. "The restaurant tried to correct the issue-" 1. According to the people literally serving the carcinogens on a regular basis... >.> 2. How do you fix KNOWINGLY trying to poison someone(or their family), out of sheer laziness or hate? Plus, restaurant workers are usually not allowed to offer a refund... they're forced to offer exchanges until the person demands the literal manager. Meaning: we're missing, literally, 98% of their interaction... The only "evidence" we see, is only of the bad thing that the other person did. You literally couldn't edit this more maliciously. "if you truly want to claim she was justified" I literally never did that... I literally said the opposite. Congrats on the reading comprehension.

Anyone who works in customer service should get one day in which they can tell a customer off that is permissible by their employer

How it should have gone: Customer: "The plastic lid is melted, this isn't safe to eat." Store owner: "Okay would you like me to redo your order, get you something different or just a refund?" Customer: "Just a refund thank you I don't trust the food here anymore."

There was a girl that I met that i thought was gonna be wifey material, she was stunning, we were into the same things and she was goin to college to be an architect so had brains aswel. When we were dating she told me a story of how a delivery driver was 5 minutes late, he was apologetic but she cussed him out and then called his work place with the intention of getting him fired. He wasn't rude in any way but she felt that he should suffer because he inconvenienced her slightly. I don't know if she was trying to impress me by telling me that story, but from that moment I wasn't takin her seriously anymore. You can tell a lot about someone by the way they treat the people who serve them

@@zkart8038 I wish there were more people out there like you. During a breakup, I'm not expecting someone to teach me to be a better person. That's my choice to make. A heads up on why things didn't work out is diplomatic though. It shows maturity. Leaving without voicing the real reason is something cowards do. Also, dumping someone and then saying they hoped their ex "learnt their lesson", is hypocritical and lazy. You want them to learn something, but not be the one to even say anything about it? Please. People need to stop virtue signalling. You're not earning any relationship points. And it shows that you're not ready for a REAL relationship, where two people work together for a common goal or future.

The funny thing about that quote "The customer is always right" is that it comes from a diamond merchant in the early 1900's (the REAL 1900's - NOT 1800's) if I remember correctly (there is/was a show on Netflix that speaks about this), that started measuring WHAT THE CUSTOMERS WAS BUYING and he could measure what sold the best in that year and so on. From then on the expression has been twisted beyond it's original meaning.
