Here in the States, anyone setting wires like this is 100% liable for damages, injuries and deaths. Now, if you're riding on private property that's =fenced= and run through a fence, then that's on you. Even more so if the property is marked.

Yeah, my grandfather has farmland. Wires to keep the cows from going outside the property and I'm guessing the wires these guys came across are old seeing as they're halfway in the dirt and pretty rusty. If you're riding through farmland areas you should be aware of wire!

No they're not. It's the duty of anyone riding to make sure they are not trespassing on another persons land and many properties all throughout the country have old barbed wire fences. If you trespass you do it at your own risk, the property owner has no liability for injuries sustained to a person who is in commission of a crime against them or their property

When I was a kid, we used to ride dirt & minibikes around a Nike base the outside of the fence, on private property with permission of the owner. One stretch about 1500 ft long let us hit 45 or more mph, and while riding one Saturday I was on that stretch. I saw a glint at the last second and ducked, feeling something scrape the top of my helmet. I stopped and got off the bike, and found someone had strung a fine stainless steel wire across the path, between two trees. I never found who did that, but had some suspicions, and took it down. Never had another problem.

Yeah, but what if the bikers cant see the wire and dont know its private property, I'm not trying to argue i'm just going to give a reason to side with the bikers on this one. The bikers can be clueless sometimes if the wire is small and metal under trees there most probably wont be a glint from the sun shining onto the metal. making it almost unseeable. it would be better to put a large sign up on a tree or just putting in a wooden fence or a sign into the ground blocking the way between the trees.

Hell we had a Poplar tree that was over 4ft wide that got struck by lightning we had to cut down and ended up ruining a chain because near the center of it was some old barb wire from one of the fences the owner of the farm land behind our house had put up over 75 years ago. I know right .. clip starts @10:29. Biker closes a multi car gap quickly after watching the silver car change lanes. Then @10:32 the silver car and the white truck both but on brakes but the biker just goes on closing the gap. At 10:35 we can NOT see if the biker is using turn signal, but what you can obviously observe in the 10:35 clip is the motorbike is not 2-4 four seconds behind the car in front of them. On top of the gap being narrowed between bike and the silver car, if you pause at the 35 you can see BOTH BUMPERS of the car, AND the white truck. "Almost" looks like the silver car is maneuvering to get around the red car that was very heavy on the brakes and clearly seen by both the silver car and white truck, infact most of the vehicles in front of him all appear to be on the brakes 3-4 seconds before the bike makes no attempt to yield. Granted I didn't see the car signal for a lan change either. After clipping a mirror it even appears he is about to center the lane divider and split the next bit of traffic down the middle. The clip however ends and we don't see if he even attempted to stop behind traffic or went on to split the stopped/ or slower vehicles. Hit and run? You be the judge. Also like 10:57 .. what lane is he in riding the center line @49 on the speedometer with nothing but slow to stopped traffic in front of them.

The kid did it 6 times before my dad's friend grabbed a log and placed it in the pathway the biker was riding. The kid came around the corner and then hit a wheelie coming right at us. He didn't see that log and hit it at atleast 30mph. The front wheel missed it as he was still in a wheelie but the rear hit hard which made the rear of the bike bounce up and go hard left. The kid launched over the handle bars and crashed. He was effed up. The kid accused us of throwing the log in front of him and walked his bike and self home. An hour later the kid, his dad and 2 sheriff's walked up on us. This happened to a friend of mine growing up. He ran into a wire that was run up between trees. It nearly cut is head off. His throat was cut so bad, and he had to walk down to a road with his throat open. He was seen by some bystanders, and they got him to a hospital in time. He has a gnarly scar on his throat, and his voice is permanently raspy and quiet. Rudy, where ever you are, you are one tough mother!

The wires (barbed wire) in the woods, I highly doubt it was the first time, otherwise they just happened to come across this land and know where to go thru the woods? I doubt. But here in Missouri (USA) we do that on private land often, just a simple string can keep livestock out of dangerous areas on the property, because if it's private land then it's the landowner's right to do whatever they want - they aren't supposed to consider the well-being of those who break the law to sneak onto the land to do illegal activity, to be totally honest.

That's not a trap; that's an old fence. That's why you don't go onto other people's property. You want to ride around and tear up the land, buy your own property to ride your crappy dirt bikes, atvs, and trucks. We had to help some lucky SOB's one day for driving an automatic truck into a mud-field. No cell-reception and they were TRESSPASSING on clearly marked land. Crossed a fence and a gate to get to where they were. They would have had to abandon their truck and no tow truck could have gotten their and they would have had to have gotten the owner's of the land they trespassed permission to enter. Really, I would have love to hear of the tale of the morons that had to walk 5 hours down a mountain because they trespassed and got stuck.. People think its "so horrible" until you own the land and its your land that these a-holes are ruining cutting the fences to get on to. Pretty sure these dirt bike f'ers passed some sort of gate to get to where they were. Where is that clip at, hm? What if the owner was hunting and missed their game? What if the owner has legitimate traps laid (legally) for hunting? What if there is a sinkhole the owner knows of but you don't? You shouldn't be there for many reasons. Stay off other people's land; just because it's woods doesn't mean its public.

Locals deeply, deeply hated bikers and 4x4 enthousiasts because they were digging deep trails in the dirt road and caused issues with getting there at all. I heard a story that once they used a tractor to get a Humvee out of bigger hole... In the road. You might say that fences would fix that, but they didn't. The bikers would simply open the fence and continue. This is the issue with people who like freedom too much IMO. They provoke a lot, taking advantage of their speed to get away from trouble. I learned to understand people's desperation with it. They work hard and get shat on by the mindless city dwellers. I know that not all bikers are the same, but this clip is actually from my locals, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were the same kind of nuisance.

I don't know what the reasons are why they do that kind of thing. Greetings to all from the north of Andalusia Spain

The wire at 5:14 was some old cattle wire from when that area was used as pasture before WW2, I doubt the old lady set anything up, she might have been mad as hell at the trespassers, sure, but she didn't string anything. And if the bikers really only visited those woods once, they wouldn't know how long the wire had been strung up, they're telling themselves a story. The rust on that wire is consistent with 50+ years in the woods, and the one they pulled up from the ground was buried by debris over the years, and the fact that the other wire appeared to be grown into those tree trunks is further evidence that it was just old cattle fence. Find out who owns the property, pay them to access the land, leave it better than you found it, and don't assume murderous intent when you find old rusted wire in the woods.

My dude you are missing a critical factor in all of this: How do they know it's private property? Did you tell them they are not welcome? You can't just shoot someone because you feel like it. Example: Mailman comes onto your property. You shoot him because he is "trespassing". That is not how it works..

  • @SoulSoundMuisc

No. You cannot shoot trespassers on your property. That's called Murder. Even in the "insane, gun-happy United States" you'd end up with a life sentence or on death row for plugging someone merely for trespassing. Now, if they're trying to attack you? Yeah, fine. In fact, putting up signs that say "Trespassers Will Be Shot" is a great way to end up in prison, too. If anything at all happens to anybody trespassing on your property, from a turned ankle to a hole in the skull, you do not pass Go. You do not collect $200. You go directly to prison, because your sign shows you premeditated doing harm. You live in a fantasy land if you believe that "shootin' dem' trespessers" nonsense.

But yeah I knew a fella in high school who was decapitated by barbed wire ridding a four wheeler. Gotta know where you’re riding. 100% of it. You know it’s old from how rusted it is. We’ve had the same wire around our farm for 8 years and they are mostly unrusted. Obviously some others found it and marked it with the bag

I've seen the stuff last some 75 years, had some that ran through the heart of a 4ft wide Poplar we had to cut down after a lightning strike killed it (Yes it snapped the chain of the saw when we hit it). Found more of it strung between other trees that had grown up around it. WE know how old it is because we knew the 98 year old woman who owned the land and the last time her husband had put up barb wire was 75 years prior and he had passed away 45 years ago and she had to sell all the cattle.

When a landowner I know tried to talk to some bikers. First politely. They ignored him. The next day he tried talking to them, firmly. They ignored him. The day after that he tried to yell at the bikers. They ignored him. A few days later the landowner called the police on the bikers. They got arrested for trespassing. Another few days later the bikers were back trespassing on the landowner's properties. They threatened the landowner. The Landowner then decided to take matters into his own hands. Set up wires and sharp objects all over. Criminal? yes. But it was the *only* way for the bikers to get the idea. When one of them was hospitalized, they finally got the idea: Stay away from the owner's property. It really takes *that* much to convince bikers to understand.

Huh, what are you trying to say? The woman is in the right. It's her land. She bought all that land so her little dog can run around safely without having to worry about getting run over. The bikers are in the wrong. They know it isn't their land to ride on. However they chose to go ripping around as though it is theirs. When they go ripping around and run over the little dog, running on his property, the bikers are the murderers. Last year, I spent almost $8,000 blocking entrances onto my land and posting 120 NO TRESPASSING signs. Twice. In three weeks, all but 2 of my signs had been torn down and the vandals had moved 6 tons of gravel from two entrances and thrown it into the woods. I bought more signs and gravel. This time, I dumped concrete on top of the gravel. Reposted my signs, and put up a mile of wire across a number of "trails" these bikers had cut into my land. I hung yellow and red flags on the wire so the trespassers would see them. They made a detour around one of the entrance barricades and cut most of my wire down and tore off the flags. I put the wire back up and the few flags I could find. I also cut down a number of large trees so they fell across the trail. Two weeks later I was showing the Sheriff and one of his deputies around my property when we heard chainsaws in the woods. We rode down to where we could see the trespassers, but they didn't see us. At this point, they're no longer just trespassers, now they're timber thieves. There were 7 timber thieves and the Sheriff knew all of them. He called his office and had 4 cars waiting to meet them at the road. Then the Sheriff and deputy rode down to confront the timber thieves. 3 surrendered on the spot and 4 took off. They were apprehended when they got to the road. It's been 10 weeks since then. 2 of them are still in jail because nobody will post bail for them. I've finally got some peace and quiet around here. Plus, I found 2 brand new chainsaws in the woods. How lucky is that?

However, they intentionally chose to continue making bad decisions. Determining their own fate. Now, they are facing the consequences of their actions. They are all still very much alive. I am in my right to protect and defend my property. I've worked hard for many years in order to achieve my goals. I never trespassed against anyone to get here. However, it seems the goal of these individuals is to trespass against me. They willingly destroy and circumvent barriers and signs. They know they are breaking the law. They are assaulting my property and my individual rights. Their actions clearly show that they have no regard for my property, my rights, or my person. I am completely in my legal rights to defend myself and my property. The ending of a life is not something that I take lightly, especially my own. It is not hard to imagine that this situation could escalate to something more serious. By taking these actions, I'm hopeful that a more dire outcome will be avoided. Contrary to what many people seem to believe, just because these individuals bought themselves some motorbikes, that doesn't give them the right to disregard the rights of others. They've never even made an attempt to ask permission to use the property. Not mine, or any of the surrounding properties. These are not innocent people committing unintentional infractions. They are fully aware of what their doing.
