they were the biggest and best selling girl group in japan before twice broke it and they held that record for TEN YEARS!! they are also the reason why kpop is accepted in japan now, they paved the way for kpop act in japan and thats how they managed to be first kpop gg to held a concert in tokyo dome. they were really up there in 2nd gen, if only the company treated them better.

Funfact: KARA is currently no. 3 of the top best selling girl groups of all time. Only Twice and SNSD have surpassed them

They debuted in 2007 with Break It. I guess they rebranded in 2008 with Rock U. Youngji, in the grey, joined the group in 2014. At that time, it was just Seungyeon, Gyuri, and Hara with Youngji cuz Nicole and Jiyoung had left the group. It's nice they came back together. Still miss Hara so bad.

the 6 have been making my days lovely back then... from watching them on variety show, seeing nicole n jiyoung leave, young ji came in, then hara went to a better place... all was different back then. had to admit, fans back then were obsessed with being the righteous. me on the sidelines were mad with the netizen mostly... fans were just trying to protect, yet the netz were driving these idols crazy

If there were a kpop Versuz, their old primary producing team Sweetune would have a strong claim to the title of GOAT.

First of all, +1 for doggo, kpop reactions need more best doggies. Second, you said Kpop royalty and you are damn right LMAO. As most of the other comments have already stated, they are in fact 2nd gen queens, and set various records and precedents during their reign. Their vocals are on point in this killing voice and I'm so glad they're back. KARA FOREVER 💕

Little fun fact : It's Gyuri, the leader, the one in the middle, who find the name of the group ^^ Kara, apparently, means in Greek 'hapiness'
