Longtime Kansas fan. I didn't expect much from the new lineup to be honest. It took me six years to give this a chance. Was I completely wrong! To say I'm shocked and amazed is an understatement. Not just a good record, The Prelude Implicit is absolutely great! Is it the 70's version of Kansas? No. It's a modern version of the Kansas sound and it is AMAZING!

Wow, i didn't know how this was going to turn out. Yes Kansas is back and as good as ever. I was turned on to Kansas back in 1975 by my uncle who was a Sax and Bass player in a rock band at the time. He had me listening to Songs For America. And that was it, never stopped listening to them and have every album they ever produced. My first concert to Kansas wasn't till years later but was so happy to see my uncle there also. It really breaks my heart to hear that he was diagnosed with ALS this passed May and seems to be failing health wise quickly. Because of him I actually listen to Kansas almost every day whether on my Ipod, iphone or my truck. I have most all their music on my ipod so when I go vacationing or on a flight in a plane, you can bet I'm listening to Kansas. Thanks uncle Mark, love you man!!

White clover in the late 60's eventually became what we know today as Kansas. A fascinating journey as when Kerry heard Steve Walsh & said that he needed him to be singing lead vocals. I believe he was originally brought in to play the organ. The bands name was changed to Kansas shortly thereafter & the rest is history.
@bryanirvine6169

I'd put the founder more in Ehart's corner. He was the driving force to keep that music flowing, and just knew that Steve Walsh needed to be singing Kerry Livgren songs. The rest was history.

Damn this a great song, and great album!! Remember when AOR stations would've played this song/album/band every day?? Change is generational, taste is a constant, however... KANSAS is STILL a Badass band! When I was a kid, I had to move to the U.S. Virgin islands. Well, in the 70's there were no rock records being sold at record stores on St. Croix since there were no rock radio stations on the island. The albums I brought with me from NY, that got me through those three years in that shitty musical desert were: Chicago's Greatest Hits, Boston, and of course... Leftoverture. I learned every note of every instrument yet had none to play. When I got back to civilization, the first album I learned on bass was yup,... Leftoverture! The album that go me through a very tough time as a kid. That's my real-life "desert island disc" story. Aside.. Since then, I've learned to play every note of every KANSAS song, (at least on bass) and each note still brings me joy.

Rich and Phil do a great job at picking the right players for the band. They struck greatness with Manion and they struck even more greatness with Brislin. With the recent departure of Rizvi, I have no doubts that they will pick a suitable guitarist that will rock with the same spirit as all of the previous 2nd guitarists.
@crusheverything4449

I doubt they’ll add another guitarist, but they’re gonna need another writer. Zak was able to mimic Kerry’s style and without him, I don’t see how they’re going to make a record as strong as TAOP, unless they use Kerry’s songs.

Nothing against this lineup, but I've been a fan since the first I heard them play in Seattle back in the 70's. They were part of a local FM radio show promotion for "rising stars." I was blown away by the WHOLE band. This current lineup isn't cutting it for me. Phil, in my opinion, is one of the greatest drummers ever. He plays music on that kit. Sure wish I had an opportunity to sit with him and BS for a while. Wishful thinking, but what the heck. :-) Anyhow...I think I'll still to my "oldies" Kansas collection for now.

Thank God Kansas Brought in Ronnie; An Awesome (and Healthy) Singer who can pump out that awesome sound all night long! And, Kansas Still Has That Same Kansas Sound!!! We Are BACK!!!
I'ts Hard to find good music these days but I guess I find one
HOLY SHIT!! I am digging this a lot! I saw them way back in the day, and even though Steve Walsh isn't with them anymore, they still bring it! Man, this is great!
This song is great and in the tradition of the former Kansas line up and producers. This evening is Kansas evening...and night...again. ❤❤🤘🤘
Put my finger on automatic like. Kansas is still inspired.. had a bunch of inspired people to keep it at that awesome level!!! Can I like them more? I want to like them more., no seriously.
I hope Kerry Livgren...age 70.,, is proud that they are still doing what he began. He started Kansas and was the original founder..

I'd put the founder more in Ehart's corner. He was the driving force to keep that music flowing, and just knew that Steve Walsh needed to be singing Kerry Livgren songs. The rest was history.
New Album PTI is Wonderful! Long Life for "Kansas" Cheers from BRASIL
hi from brazil, your music is awesome!!
As an early fan since age 15....I'm happy with this
So excited to see them still rocking and working hard to produce new material. Saw them first in 1976 and have not stopped loving and listening to them ever since!
I saw them twice in the late 70's early 80's. Leftoverture tour rocked Alpine valley!!!!!!!!!!
Sooo thankful for these guys...still doing what they do with just 3 original members... Still writing new relevant, powerful stuff and the performance is top notch. Saw them in Denver in 2017. Still have the unique Kansas sound - what a blessing they are!..

Can not believe how strong they came back!
Amazing live in 2019. Went in not expecting much,came out in awe. Platt is pretty darn good
Siete come il vino, più invecchiate e più diventate buoni... Congratulations...

@crusheverything4449

Just saw them in Santa Rosa, CA (9/8/17). Second time I've seen Kansas in the past 3 years. Miss Steve Walsh but love the new guys. And the new album. The Prelude Implicit is my favorite album of the year. Great song writing and fantastic musicianship. I love older musicians who can still play their asses off and show some of these newer bands how to rock. Pre-ordering their new album and hope they come back my way for their Point of No Return tour - maybe next year?
