Kansas: Larson Says, “Hold My Beer!” & The Return of Joel Edmonds

Спорт

Casey Boat, Freddie Kraft, T.J. Majors, and Brett Griffin reunite with a special guest-last year’s fan-favorite, Joel Edmonds-to dissect the closest finish in NASCAR Cup Series history. The group had a lot to cover from the painted finish line on the track to the insane restarts.
In our segment “Spot On, Spot Off,” Denny Hamlin boldly declares this as his championship year. Meanwhile, we wonder whether iconic sponsorships are becoming relics of the past. Is it time for a new era in racing?
The crew swaps exhilarating stories, delves into rumors, and debates about when Ford will clinch a victory. Will the blue oval brand rise to the challenge?
In “Reaction Theater,” passionate fans hold nothing back as they critique the performance of the Driver of the 17 car. And brace yourselves-Brett reveals that Clint Bowyer has left him on read.
Lastly, we offer an exclusive preview of the upcoming throwback weekend at Darlington.
This episode is a must-watch for all Door Bumper Clear fans!

Kansas was my first in-person NASCAR race, and even with the weather, the experience was all that I could have hoped for. From the placement of the merchandise vendors to the seating and the food in the Highline Club and the fan walk (which I didn't get to participate in as I was securing rain gear for my family), NASCAR did an outstanding job! My only complaint with NASCAR is they needed to communicate to the fans during the rain delays about what their thoughts are. We couldn't even get information from officials walking through the stands about what was going on until they announced drivers to the cars. I feel a lot more fans would have hung around for the race if they would have known something, anything, as we were all looking at the same radar picture and never thought that thing was going to get run on Sunday! One of the best things that we did was rent scanners. Now, I know that some drivers and their spotters like to communicate more than others, but one of the most enjoyable things I will remember is listening to TJ talk Brad through the race. The amount of information he gave him was outstanding and helped me understand what goes on in the car and on the track. The only way it could have been a better day was a win for Denny (Denny Is Great!) and TJ's car finishing in the top three. Unfortunately, Busch had to spin out and screw everything up. Keep up the great work and God Bless!

💯 percent agree with Brett even denny said on his podcast this may be the last year for throw back weekend due to the cars not having the same sponsor thru out the year.. made a really good point if you gave the team more money instead of chasing the sponsor it's back in the driver's hand making them ironically branded and easier to pull for a constant driver week to week causing rivals between fan bases and drivering sales up tickets and everything.. nascar needs to find a way to get back to connecting with the fans and drivers

There are tons of high speed cameras out there that NASCAR could use to show a clearer image for the "photo finish". But realistically, they should either figure out a way to get the transponder more forward, or have multiple, but yes they need a way to make these close finishes more transparent to the TV audience.

Do you think any of the drivers racing towards the finish line were thinking I'll let up off the gas right at the line? No they were mashing that pedal through the firewall. NASCAR used the technology for a reason, unless you want them to go back to the way they figured out Lee Petty's photo finish win way way back in the day.

I'll say it for the 500th time, if you want a game 7 moment but still want a legitimate champion then take the top 26 points days for each driver and use it to calculate the final points. The last 10 weeks would be constant storylines and scenarios up until the last race, stage, lap. It could even lead to a moment where they have to win to win the championship. One bad race in a 3 race championship segment would still lead to dominate driver not winning

Nascar needs to replace Texas with Kentucky. Because if Texas and Kentucky are identical with flipped turns. Then give Ketucky a race, COTA can take over as the Texas race. As for the 1 race, take every track aside from Daytona and Talledega to 1 race. Maybe go back to the Pocono double weekend, and you can add more tracks like Nascar wants. And keep the Roval since it is the home of Nascar and a different layout anyway.
