I've sat through the bad seasons KU's had. Seeing them win like this is really exciting as a diehard fan. BYU didn't make this a cakewalk, I'm sure they're gonna be a legitimate threat in the Big 12 this year.

As a Utah fan who wants nothing but failure and humiliation for BYU, I think you're quite correct that they will be a legit threat in Big 12 conference play no matter their record. Utah and BYU don't play this year for only the second or third time in about the last century, for which I'm happy; and I'm pissed off that the PAC12 is dissolving, which will put BYU and Utah back together in the same conference next year like they were for years in the Mountain West, the WAC before that, and some other old conference before that. BYU is always dangerous.

@@dylanalexander9581 Probably. KU is vastly improved, but Texas is perhaps the best team in the country. I'm not going to let it damper my optimism about this team, no matter what happens on Saturday. Well....barring JD6 being injured and taken out for the year. That might harm the optimism a bit.

As a dad who loved seeing the Kansas Stadium FULL (daughter KU grad 2006-2010) loved driving from Norman, Oklahoma to party on the KU hill and that 2008 year BEST YEAR EVER....now 2023 Rock Chalk JAYHAWKS....see you October 28th for KU vs OU...

BYU looked good... but balance was off, like 9 yards rushing total. KU looked and played well enough to be 4-0. Arkansas warned you about us. Best of luck BYU, good game guys.

If you're talking about the last INT, I think he did. The receiver was well covered and there was a safety breaking to the WR, so if he'd floated the ball the safety makes the play more than likely. But it was also 4th and 7, so if they don't make a play, KU gets the ball back anyway, so I think he thought that throwing to the guy even if he wasn't open, was better than just throwing the ball away. Nothing to lose there. The INT-TD though was a bad read and a bad throw. But in a game where he threw 51 times, I think it's expected he's going to make at least one of those.

People seem to forget hat kansas only went 1-5 after the 5-1 start because their QB and WR got injured.

I was at the game. Watching the replays confirmed what we saw live. Klovis is the real deal. Those long sideline routes could not have been thrown more perfectly. He may be the most a accurate QB sees all season. Can’t win if you have single digit run game, even with a deadeye QB

I watched it in real time. he also made some of the dumbest errors in trying to force the ball in places that were clearly not open. He made some incredible throws that only he can make imma be honest but there's a reason this is his 3rd team. He has all the talent in that arm but his head leaves something to be desired. Though I will say if you have a balance run and pass game hopefully some of those windows are bigger for his throughs. BYU was one dementional with no run game. But He just can't stop throwing to the other color jersey. That's what's going to be what stops him from being successful.

@@wheatking8971 To be fair to Slovis, One of those errors was a 4th and 7, so if he throws it away, KU gets the ball back anyway at basically the same spot. So he had nothing to lose on that throw even though the WR was well covered. On the INT TD return, that was a bad mistake. It was 3rd and 10 though, and I think he was just trying to make something happen. Should have thrown it away and punted. But when you throw 51 times, you're going to make a couple mistakes. He did make some fine throws to well covered receivers, and threaded into tight coverage a couple of times. Could have had more INTs if he wasn't as accurate as he was. But a good QB knows his ability and will make those throws knowing he can get away with it most of the time. Shows he has confidence in his arm. That's a good thing.

Okay as a Mizzou fan I dont like KU being successful honestly. But there are two things I have to say . . . 1) Lance Liepold is just the kind of coach that I want to route for (kind of Bill Snyder and Chris Kleiman esk) does everything the right way, focuses on littoe things. 2) KU has probably the best shade of blue for uni's and the all reds w/ the white helmets are pretty nice

Fumble return and double tipped pick 6... that's a 14 point swing, otherwise BYU could have won. Add another interception in that killed a promising drive. Gotta control those turnovers. Good work, Kansas, the D controlled the run and hurried Slovis when it counted.

Well actually you have to look at each turnover as a denied possession in which case the ball goes to Kansas and it requires that KU drive and score. I figure KU would have scored on one of those two possessions which means the game could have gone to overtime. That's how I saw the matchup...as a toss up. But afterward I think KU is still sand bagging, hoping to keep a few capabilities under the radar. Byu will win more games than they lose in this conference. Getting post mission players is a strategic advantage for BYU. Two years older and wiser is no small thing. The Holy War will settle this conference many times i imagine.

Gave up 14. That last INT KU didn't score. It was also 4th and 7, so if the INT doesn't happen, KU gets the ball back anyway, at basically the same spot. So the last turnover didn't really change anything.

Congrats to Kansas, good game. BYU looked pretty good the first half and had some good drives on offense, and good stops on defense. The lack of a run game is really hurting, and the turnovers were bad news. Without those the score would've been either closer or in BYU's favor. Regarding comments on poor calls/lack of calls by the refs, that works both ways and is a part of the game. Bad calls affect both teams and it's unfortunate but not much you can do about it. What matters is what the team does despite whatever bad calls come their way. But the title for the video? Really? I don't think I've EVER seen a ESPN highlight video that celebrates a team winning. Every one that I've ever watched just said what teams were playing and that it was full game highlights. Somebody at ESPN a Jayhawks fan?

The two scores on BYU (first run in fumble and second pick 6) really hurt BYU. But KU spread out it's offense and made BYU's defense work too hard. They ran all over BYU. That was the differences in this game. Just look... Rushing BYU - 9 KU-221 Rushing Attempts BYU-22 KU-37 Yards per rush BYU-0.4 KU-6.0 BYU got dominated on the run. Not sure why they didn't use LJ Martin. All in all, it was an entertaining game.

I've watched the tackle a few times now and live it looks bad, but I see on the replay that it was a shoulder-to-shoulder clean hit. Every play is reviewed, and every scoring play is reviewed, even if the officials didn't see it live, the replay booth can call down to review the hit for targeting. They saw it as a clean hit too. Anyway, it was an entertaining game to watch, and I look forward to seeing these two teams compete in all sports in the future. Welcome to the Big 12.

I actually thought it looked like targeting as well, but the refs did not call it. Whether the shoulder hit first or not, it still drove straight into his chin. I think he was momentarily out on his feet causing the fumble. But after looking at it several times I don't think it was intentional; you can see the runner lowering to take the hit which dropped his chin right into the shoulder. I hope the docs take a good look at him. TBI is no joke.

The refs should have called 14 points back from Kansas because of the first scoop and score (no call for targeting) and the second pick 6 (no call for PI). Good game otherwise, but could have been much better. Hard to enjoy the win when it was stolen like that.

Argument could be made for a PI. Rex should know better than to reach back and tip a ball up like that. But that wasn't targeting on the scoop and score.

I'm sorry, but some of the referees calls at critical points of the game were simply wrong i.e. the BYU interception of Kansas, Kansas targeting BYU running back. Yes, you "won" Kansas, but you definitely had a little help when you needed it.
