I legit forgot the context of this scene since I usually watch the Dub version. Although I saw the original Japan dubbed version first. In the English dub they make it seem like kuichi is bullying her jokingly, which he is, but I miss the nuance of the humor in Japanese.

Just for the non-japanese speakers, "boku" is usually used by married men when speaking to their spouse. Men sometimes used "boku" when speaking with their long-time girlfriend. A wife might use "boku" when speaking to her husband but never by a girlfriend to her boyfriend. "Ore" is usually used by male teens or young male adults as a way to assert their dominance because it sounded very harsh and rude.
