It looks like you have the CPU power capped at 15W. Have you checked the bios to see if you can up that to get more performance? This chip should be able to go up to 35W.

It's funny that you mention this. I was actually looking at this yesterday. I installed the AMD Tuning Utility and was playing around with some different settings. I found that it ran pretty good at 25W. Trying to do more than that just turned it into a jet engine with the fan and it felt like it was going to melt. lol However playing at 25W I could easily get a consistent 60 FPS in Fortnite with fairly low fan noise. Will need to play around a bit more - but you are certainly right. The default on this specific setup is capping the power at 15W.

How do I increase the cpu power cap on this mini pc?

Even if I hated this video (which I obviously don't), I would still hit the like button. First time I heard anyone use the word finagle in a tech video. I salute you! Using same system to record footage is bound to hurt performance. You might want to invest in an external capture device. I wonder how this PC would handle video editing. Thanks for the video.

It really depends on what you are looking for. This one is on the borderline of being "just enough" for light casual gaming. If you have the money for a lower end rig with discrete graphics card that might be the way to go.

Do you think this is powerful enough? For gaming?

It's on the edge. I can be used for gaming with the right expectations around the quality.

Any tests done/can be done to see if this sends info back home to China like those android tv boxes do?

Hmm, good point. I think I'll need to run some sort of port/network monitor to see what kind of outgoing IP traffic is going on.

So I used Portmaster to track the outgoing connections and I didn't end up seeing anything suspicious here...at least that I could tell.

Im looking to just use online for sites facebook and such.. but i need something fast for cheap.. could this be it??

Yes, all of these Mini PC's basically use laptop type components as they are running mobile processors often found in laptops. So you are correct on the DDR memory.

Bro can you do performance mode test because It will perform much better.

I set it to performance mode in the Windows settings, but whenever the tests run it shows balanced for some reason. I tried every which way and this is the result.

Obs could be also holing the performance back.

Yeah, running any of the screen capture stuff does have some overhead.

Do they make one with a Ryzen 7 or 9?

You can certainly probably run OBS fine, but streaming a game that is taking up some GPU smoothly might be a challenge.

Whats like the most heavy game this could actually run?

It's hard to say. I think it will run quite a few, but you may need to tweak settings to get reasonable performance.
