Kamp Rite Compact Tent Cot (XL) Product Overview (OCTC443)

This is a product overview of our Compact Tent Cot (OCTC443) where we discuss setup and features. The Kamp-Rite® CTC XL was designed for extra comfort with its extended width and length. The CTC XL includes the 3-in-1 features of the CTC Standard-two separate, standard camping items (a tent and a cot) that combine to create a comfortable off-the-ground sleep shelter. The CTC XL’s sleeping area has plenty of head room and its two zippered windows at each end promote air flow on warm nights. Spreader bars located at each end of the tent top keep the top fully expanded for maximum interior space. The CTC XL folds down to a compact and portable size, providing an appealing alternative to old style, cumbersome camping gear. The CTC XL takes mere minutes to set up, leaving you more time to relax on even the shortest of outings. Each CTC XL comes complete with a Kamp-Rite® Rain Fly and a convenient, Roller Wheeled Carry Bag.

Great video on set up and take down. I only had to rewind 4 times to fully appreciate your method of collapsing and storing the tent.

A few things that could improve is being higher off ground. Well for the 2 person one. So your getting in and out of tent easier. Another thing would be a vent roof. So you can see the sky. Put the rain slip over for the days you need it. I'm interested in getting the 2 person setup for me and my dog. Maybe in January 2022.

Qué bellesa. De tienda para acampar una semana o más. Es muy práctica de armar. Y no duerme uno en el suelo.

Looks great which is why I bought one on amazon. I ordered this on amz from some bogus company out of nebraska called 'spreetail". I don't know what the scam was but they created a shipping label, charged my card and that was it. Never gave it to the carrier. When I contacted them, they said they would send me a replacement but that never happened either. Never got the tent and it took me several weeks to get my money back and I was so fed up I just modified an old full size tent to fit a coleman alum cot I already had and it works great. Probably much lighter than this and it didn't cost me anything but if I had to put byy the cot and tent, it would have been half the cost of this. I had to make some modifications of course but it wasn't that hard.

Kamp Rite cot tents work better in cooler temps and or higher elevations. Most modern tents give you more much more mesh and ventilation for warmer weather. Quality and durability good. Keeping the screens and flaps folded up and in place is a totally mess, surprised they have not fixed this issue.

The original Tent Cot, not XL, is my go-to tent for motorcycle camping. Fits easily across the passenger seat and setup is a snap. Nice to sleep off the ground but I do add a cheap roll-up foam type pad under my bag for slightly more sleeping comfort (I'm mostly a side sleeper).

Isn't that really large on a motorcycle?

Is that the camera lens cap that keeps swinging into frame as the cameraperson moves about? Really annoying. And given the direction of the light don't we think the demonstrator could have simply picked up the cot and rotated it so the gear pocket faced the light and the tent build made more sense?

Yeah this thing's actually nice enough I think you could rent it out for like 50 bucks a night

Can you stake it down for windy weather? Seems like this would just take off in the wind, but I really like the concept.
