As a Kamen Rider fan...who tf recommend this movie for first timer??

That was very interesting, never seen people with no prior knowledge of the franchise watch this before. If I could recommend something, I'd recommend Shin Ultraman and Shin Kamen Rider. This franchise is relatively obscure outside of Japan, but it's always very, very nice to see people watch it. Thank you for watching! Edit: I am now subbed!

16:58 Zi-o runs on a Meta timeline, with the entry continuing the stories of all the prior Heisei era riders. So this movie crossover pretty much pushes the line further. And yes, this movie is in fact the inaugural “passing the torch” crossover for Rider. 27:29 For context, Zi-o’s monsters of the week are called Another Riders, which are made by Time Jackers. The Another Riders essentially take the originals’ place in time, though there are a few instances where they do not lose their power 31:39 Quick behind the scenes, this is the actor’s reprisal of the character, years after his time as the main character of Den-o. As he became a very big actor following his star role, and couldn’t be able to make guest reappearances until this movie. So that scene was a slight nod from some of the main cast of Den-o, and especially that quote. 33:26 There is, and mind you Zi-o as a series celebrates the Heisei Era of Rider, which in it of itself is already packed in the Rider count. But for the most part, outside of Zi-o and Team Build, it’s just the primary Rider of the prior entries. 36:11 Yes, the original Double is made up of 2 people, which Another Double signifies be his design of being 2 bodies stitched together. And following this, Another Rider are only truly beaten if taken out by the power of the original, be it through the Ride Watches(Zi-o’s gimmick) or the original Rider if they aren’t replaced.

I only really got into the franchise like 4 years ago. So far I have watched Wizard, Ex-Aid (so far my favorite), Ryuki, and then like half of ghost when I got too busy to continue watching it, but I plan to get back to it eventually. I also have shout’s physical release of Kuuga and Zero-One to watch as well.

@@rainingmadness129 that's about when I got into it myself. Started with ooo, then went back to start of heisei and I've done Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki and Faiz and a little bit of blade. So far Faiz is my favourite followed by Agito.

Like the whole reason I am watching Ghost is to get to Ex-Aid’s cameo. I think once I get back and finish ghost I think I am going to watch Zero-One next. Huh, never seen someone suggesting a Kamen Rider movie to a reaction channel. But hey, the more people knowing about KR, the better, lol.

Congrats on this movie. It's pretty good & I hope this sticks your foot in the door regarding the rest of the franchise. Shout Factory/Shout Studios has Kamen Riders Kuuga, Ryuki, & Zero-One on BluRay, the original Kamen Rider series all the way back from 1971 is on legal streaming, & we also got Fuuto PI which is an anime adaptation of the Fuuto Detectives manga which is a sequel to the toku show Kamen Rider W. Kamen Rider history is WILD but a lot of fun as well.

As someone who blindly dipped in their toes to a kamen Rider and went straight to "final" movie, I would say both of you understand it pretty well. Most section of this movies are relying nostalgia factor, that's why there's a lot of scene that doesn't make sense without context since it was a past TV's reference.

I'd recommend Kamen Rider Decade as a starter to help get familiar with the series. It touches on some old Riders prior to 2009 without spoiling anything in case a Rider sparks your interest. It's also shorter than other seasons with about 32 episodes and a few movies/specials compared to the usual 45-50 of the modern seasons. Most seasons you can watch without context, but avoid Zi-O's for now as it acts more of a sequel season to the ones prior to it. Other than that, some others I'd recommend: Gaim, W, Build, Ex-Aid, Zero-One Revice, Geats

I truly admire your efforts in choosing to watch this movie. Because it is a commemorative movie, for fans who have followed the Kamen Rider series. Therefore, there are many elements of gratitude and related terms, so non-fans will really be "questioned" if they have not seen the Kamen Rider movies, or Kamen Rider Zi-O, to understand.

Raining Madness is a beast for recommending this.

I don't blame you. I've rewatched Zi-O and it barely follows its own established rules. It's so weird that Toei first released this movie when they were trying to reach for the western audience instead of something like the first two Heisei Generations films.

I love these dives into Tokusatsu (especially as a fan of the genre). It's fun to see reactions especially when there's no American or western counterpart. There's a series called Garo that sort of combines this with horror anthology stories and is aimed at an older audience. Many of the movies from that series use art and colour in interesting ways despite darker themes.

Well they only watched the two other Gantz movies off my special request, but I honestly don't have any plans to pick Perfect Answer as I personally didn't really care for it. So if they do watch it it will have to be either their choice or someone else picking it.

@@rainingmadness129 I can understand as the sequel though a direct continuation does veered away from the non-existent source material at the time due to the manga still drawn. It does its own thing and was no longer about fighting aliens.

So many of the Heisei Kamen Riders could be "my favorite" but the one that tops them all is W/Double (the green/black rider) from 2009-2010. That series was my first, and I've been addicted since!

To explain then: - Kamen Rider series started in 1971 - And this movie is to commemorate the Kamen Rider series of the Heisei era start from 2000 to 2018 (Showa - Heisei - Reiwa) - Among them, Kamen Rider Kuuga is the first rider of the Heisei era - year 2000 - Every year there will be a new Kamen Rider tv series released, in the film there will be many Kamen Riders. They can be teammates, they can also be enemies, final bosses,... In general, from 1971 to now, there are about 300 Riders throughout the movies (38 TV series and hundreds of movies and side stories). In this movie, Den-O is main in 2007, Kuuga is main in 2000, Build is main in 2017, Zi-O is main in 2018. Kamen Rider Cross-Z, Grease, Rogue are supporting riders in the BUILD series, Geiz is side rider in the ZI-O series.

Imagine they decide to watch the second Kamen Rider Zi-o movie. They would be so confuse over the opening.... people cheering for beginning of Reiwa era....

I love you guys reaction to the movie. Here are some briefly explanation about the history of Kamen Rider: This franchise are divided into 3 eras, the Showa era from 1971 to 1994, the Heisei era from 2000 to 2019, and the Reiwa era from 2019 onward, the reason there was a gap between the Showa era and Heisei era is because the franchise wasn't able to keep their old viewers, and their creator died around that time, so they have to close down for 6 years; Every year will have a new Kamen Rider season and their movies go within; The movie you guys just watched is the movie closing the Heisei era, and the era was started with Kamen Rider Kuuga and ended with Kamen Rider Zi-O. Some fun fact: Zi-O, with the word "Zi" is in short for the word "Ziku", which mean" time, and the word "O" is mean "King", Combine these 2 words we have "King of Time". And Kamen Rider Zi-O is offically confirmed to be the strongest Kamen Rider in the Heisei era at the end of his season. Some personal opinions: Kamen Rider has a lot of better movies than this one about the story, but I really love this movie becasue it is heavily fan service. This movie straight up breaking the 4th wall and saying Kamen Rider is just a TV Show, but that is what make me , a Kamen Rider, fan feel very relatable, and also very emtional when this 20 years era is ended. I am highly recommend you guys to watch any Kamen Rider season from the Heisei era onward: Most of the seasons only have about 50 episdoes; These seasons have let me going through a trip of emotion with such interesting characters and story, badass looking suit, fantastic action, and banger music; For where to start, just choose any season you think look cool to you, but if you need a recommendation, I think Kamen Rider Double, OOO, and Fourze are the perfect 3 seasons to start with. If you guys decide to watch this franchise, then I hope yall will enjoy it.

Seriously this movie suit more to boys than girls. But some survey said that mothers also watch this kamen rider series together with their boys because of there's a lot handsome (ikemen) actors in them😅. Heisei is an era in about 20 years. So this movie is the fan service to celebrate the end of that era. Kuuga is the first rider of heisei, it comes from ancient power in old tomb also synonymous with stag beatles (kuwagata) hence the name kuuga. The primary color for kuuga basically is red but the most powerful form is dark armoured. Most of the riders symbolises by animals or insects but nowadays they already implemented others theme like watches, camera, video games etc. Also need to add, eventhough this kamen rider series just for kids , but some of the actors become so popular and successful in their acting career , like kuuga's , double's and den-o's actor. So it's very rare for some of them to reprise their kamen rider role again

This is a nice surprise! Remembering my childhood here when I watched Tokusatsus, which are still very famous here in Brazil. My favorite Kamen Raider is still Black and the following RX and now, last year I believe, a new "more adult" version of the series. That's my favorite list: 1-Kamen Rider Black and RX 2-Jaspion 3-Sharivan 4-Jiraya

If you ask me, who is my favorite heisei kamen rider? I'll be really confused, and yes I am confused right now Maybe it will be Den-O or Build, but I also really love Kiva (the chain guy), Blade, Gaim, and Agito too. And I can't forgot about Double, Ex-Aid, Kuuga, and Zi-O 😅😅😅😅

Only their Granddaddy tiers can make special requests once a month. Those tiers only becomes available when a granddaddy decides to no longer renew their membership. If there is a month that has 5 Wednesdays they will allow a person a one time sub to make a selection for that 5th Wednesday, but you can't renew it. They do have polls periodically for patrons to vote on for what they want to see and sometimes they allow patrons to comment a movie they want to see and that gets populated on the poll.

Well Kamen Rider Den-O was the rider who frequently time traveled using his train the DenLiner which predates Decade by 2 years. Also in Kamen Rider Ryuki (2002), the evil rider, Kamen Rider Odin, had the time vent card that allowed him to send himself or someone else back in time. Not sure on how far back he can go, but he was able to send the main rider Ryuki back by months. Even Kiva's Castle Doran was capable of time travel and he was a year before Decade. As far as I am aware, Decade is the only Rider to be able to travel to alternate Rider Worlds throughout the multiverse. So he has that going for him.

BTW, thank you for reacting to this Movie😭 If you want more Kamen Rider crossover movies I would recommend Kamen Rider Reiwa The First Generation (Zi-O x Zero One) and Kamen Rider Heisei Generation Final (Ex-Aid (the game guy) x Build) As for the standalone Kamen Rider Movie, to be honest, I've never watched it, but it seems like many people would recommend Shin Kamen Rider. Oh and of course I recommend mostly all of Kamen Rider Den-O Movie hehe

I'd say Hibiki and Fourze is More Underrated Than Ghost Because The Actors Of Takeru , Makoto , Kanon and Jabel Return in Saber Which is Actually Good. Ghost = Yes! Toei Could Have Made It If They Put The Effort + I Agree With This A Lot Ghost Should Be A Lot More Popular and Gets More Love like Agito and Wizard. I Thought Ghost Was Pretty On Par With Ex-aid , Build and Zi-o So I'm Quite Surprised That It's Not More Popular !

Imho, Raining should've just chosen Shin Kamen Rider instead. Its a remake of the original tv series back in 1971 but modernized. I think you'd have a much easier and enjoyable time with that, than Heisei Generations Forever since that film is meant to be about the series as a whole, to which since this is your first time seeing it? You wouldn't get all of the characters, backstory and impact compared to a KR fan who has seen them.

Just to let you know watching this Kamen Rider Movie is similar of saying you watch "Avengers Endgame" without watching any previous marvel movies. You need to watch the previous series & movies to understand this movie.

Any sane person would recommend the recently released Shin Kamen Rider as a gateway or its earlier released contemporary reimagining, Kamen Rider: The First, or the more standalone ones, like Kamen Rider 555: Paradise Lost (you should check that one out as well, that one doesn't really require any knowledge of the series it's based on, since it's an alternate retelling).

Japanese using a lot of english as slangs just with a japanese accent(like: computer- computaa).

Another Riders are monsters with power stolen from the original, to distinguish the two they look like Kaijin, (initially the Time HiJackers went back in time and replaced the Riders with these evil counterparts outright in their year of origin, before moving to creating them in the then present of 2018-2019.) Den-Oh means King of Trains, the red horned guy is Momotaros an Imagin named after Momotaro, the boy born from a giant peach, it’s a staple of Japanese folklore/mythology. Momo meaning peach and Taro because he was the eldest son in the family that found him. Momotaros is Ryotaro’s primary supporter, providing his base form which is distinct from Kuuga’s own form (I understand how one could confuse Riders but Den-O for Kuuga is the funniest one since they only share colour schemes.) The old guy with the cane is the owner of the time traveling train. The character they talk about not forgetting is Ryotaro Nogami the other half of Den-O,(When he transforms Momotaros, Utataros the blue turtle one, Kintaros the yellow/golden bear/Sumo Wrestler, or Ryutaros the black Dragon take over his body to fight and he adopts their personality.)

I mean these movies from Rider, are the “passing the torch” crossovers, with this one very heavily relies on knowledge of the Heisei era of Rider, as Zi-o capstones it by celebrating that part of the franchise’s history.

The Kamen Riders from 2000-2019 are the "Heisei" riders (Dragon Knight was an adaptation of Kamen Rider Ryuki from 2002). Since Zi-O was the 20th Heisei Rider they decided to make his season an "Anniversary Season" in that it will heavily reference the past riders which they did with the monsters and with his power ups. The reason this is a passing of the torch is that the current rider's first movie is typically a team up movie with the previous rider acting as a passing of the torch as you will. For instance Zero-One's movie "Reiwa the First Generation" was his team up with Zi-O. @@TheStarkiller96

Not gonna lie though, I'd have chosen a more grounded Kamen Rider movie cause anything with ZI-O is messy.

Not really, but PR is just very watered down adaptations of the source material(Super Sentai), unless they take a divergent take, ie RPM. However, the stories of the source material will most of the time outshine its adaptation.

I love Kamen Rider to the bone, but this is the worst movie to start for anyone who has ZERO ideas of it... The hell 😅

Oh god this is gonna be so cringe watching someone react to kamen rider if you know nothing about it. Kamen rider can be really weird... and its stupid because you are not gonna understand anything about the movie if you haven't seen the show. 😂 i don't blame you guys if you don't like the movie it can be really silly.

Ya that tends to happen when they have to focus so much on piecing things together and also the time travel plot doesn’t help make things easier. Come to think of it. The amnesia plot line was a terrible call when two of Build’s other riders also don’t have their memories for a completely unrelated reason. This is my least favorite heisei film, but it’s also the only one officially released so what can I do? 😢

Well I picked it because this is a franchise I have been enjoying and wanted to see what would happen if I threw someone into the deep end. The only other officially released movies I can choose from is Zero-One’s RealxEyez movie and Shin Kamen Rider. Shin might have been the more practical choice but I thought this film would be more interesting to see a reaction for. If I could have chose any film then I would have done the first heisei generations movie. I legit watch the last 30 minutes all the time.

Kamen Rider came out way before Power Rangers lol and the creator/mangaka who created Kamen Rider and Super Sentai(the series that has been bastardized/stolen some footage by your Power Rangers) who was so dissapointed by Saban who also ruining Kamen Rider Black RX/ Kamen Rider ZO that he never let them touch Kamen Rider again.
