It's not wrong actually. What u said is true. But, there must be a reason why these girls want the boys to keep some symbol to show they r married to someone. They are not idiots, we even see many news on TV boys cheated on girl after marriage and same goes to girls. It is discipline*. Also your mom believed in your father that he will never cheat on her and she don't even think about that thing because in your mother's period there no TV or phone to get the news about society so she knew only about her street or her surroundings.
