Longtime Washington fan here. Watching Kalen DeBoer the last two years, one thing he is very consistent on is remaining neutral when it comes to talking about players. He wants every player to be motivated and not lose focus because of some minor thing he might say in a press conference. Coach DeBoer is a man of respect for his players, his coaches and anyone in the game. He doesn't lose his cool and you will rarely see him animated on the sidelines. But don't let the calm demeanor fool you. The guy can flat out coach. He can flat out motivate. And he has a ton of years of experience doing this and winning championships in the process. You are right. You have a good one.

His calm demeanor and personality reminds a lot of Dennis Erickson when he got hired at Miami from Washington State in 1989. Hope that Kalen DeBoer will duplicate @ Alabama what Erickson did @ Miami and win a Natty in year one

I just LOVE our new Bama football coach. He is in every way the best possible successor to our beloved coach Saban. Some day he will have a statue in front of Bryant-Denny Stadium to honor his many achievements/championship at Bama. Again, I am absolutely thrilled that Coach Karen is with us here in Bama land. In fact, I am PROUD that he is our coach.

We basically have two Coach Nate Oates now. I’d bet a conversation between the two would be something like if Ray Romano, Patrick Mahomes and Kermit the Frog had a sit down. lol Rtr!

Really like this coach but wow, what a stark difference from Saban's press conferences!

It feels good to see your coach not treat the press like he's angry or didn't want to be there no disrespect I like his energy we haven't seen energy like this from our coach in a long time roll tide

Saban could have fun with the press as well though. I don’t think Saban cared either way, I think he mostly used the media to get to the players. His “according to yall we’re dead gone and buried” speech in 2015 was awesome and it worked cause it rung true. And just like after that Ole Miss game in ‘15, we are currently being disrespected after just getting it back after showing who’s the boss in the SECCG. Even then I head “oh, UGA’s Bowers/McKonkey were hurt” despite the fact those two played! Hurt is when you’re missing both starting CBs and your two best weapons on offense tear their ACL’s like when UGA finally beat us in the ‘21 NC game, yet no mention of that. Context seems to only matter when it doesn’t help Bama. ESPN currently has us ranked behind Oregon, Ole Miss, Mizzou and ND……..in what world? ND couldn’t beat this upcoming Bama team if they had 10 tries at it. We have the same amount of talent on this roster than all those teams combined, maybe more… Coach DeBoer is hungry, the players are hungry and I feel bad for any team that doesn’t take this upcoming Bama team seriously. Rtr!

I haven’t seen how he does at bama, obviously, but I know who he is, and I hope he’s at bama for as long as Saban was, if not longer

I like the fact that Coach KDB pays attention to detail.

I had the same thought. He's kind of blending into the background. He's in Alabama though. He can't help but to grow into his swag there. The state is full of it and it will rub off on him.

Milroe will be the starter. He has the locker room, the experience and the skill set. I don't know why everyone is so down on the guy.

Agree, he basically said someone had to lead the QBs but the QB position was wide open. People trying to say Milroe was named the starter didn't listen well.

Or just a PR marketing puppet for the University of Alabama!? Cmon bro, you gotta keep it real and stop this madness. Milroe is NOT it for us as a QB. I’ve had lots of respect for you over the years but you’re started to go wayyy left field with your biased reporting. Strong muscles and athleticism don’t translate to being a great QB. Pocket awareness, ability to read defenses, going through progressions, etc and Milroe isn’t even decent with ANY of these. Period.

If that were the determining factor when evaluating how good a coach will be we would have brought in Ed Orgeron. Give the man a chance to prove himself before just automatically writing him off.
