Kokunodate is a small town located in Akita Prefecture. It is known for having some of the best samurai architecture in all of Japan. Because of its rich culture and history, it is also known as "the little Kyoto of Tohoku." In this video, I visit the two main areas of the town: the merchant district and the samurai district.
