As a music journalist and critic, I have to adhere to strict rules and regulations about what good journalism is governed by, otherwise I'd be a puppet of the propaganda machine. Freedom of speech is often inhibited by moles who would be too comfortable with hitting the dislike button on these channels. Anal till the last... There is much good to say about Kaki King's analgam of Americana... nostalgia, progressive harmonization, groove, and her modality of creating a wide associative expanse within the limited range of a 6 string instrument, not a 70 piece orchestra. There's an idea? This is an easy ride in a fingerstyle vehicle of fantasy, designed for kids of any age -- made for the listening of it, not a corporate world's condescending thumb. And thanks very much, Sony Music, for letting this one through. Music like this, is quite easily designed to show the complexity of what makes the human mind an escape mechanism. Save us from the mundane, again and again, Kaki King? Three cheers!!! Oh.. Bravo! :)

Apologies if I’ve posted this before, but I was drifting in and out of insomnia in 2004 and woke up to hear Kaki on Dave Letterman ( I think it was near Christmas ). I’d never heard anything like this and I fell in love with it. I started to dream that I was playing guitar, and i finally got on in 2010. It doesn’t matter if you just pick one up an noodle on it. If you think it might bring you happiness, give it a try!
