Kailash Mansarovar Road: Lipulekh Pass | Part 1: Dharchula to Chiyalekh

This video is a part of my entire Kailash Mansarovar journey. In this vlog, I rode my motorcycle on the Kailash Mansarovar Dharchula to Lipulekh Pass road's first point called Chiyalekh.
Please note that Chiyalekh is not a lake but the steep climb after Budhi.
The Kailash Mansarovar Road (to the last point Lipulekh Pass) is a 4-day journey. Meaning, at least 4 vlogs. And if each of those vlogs includes only half day's story, 8 vlogs in total. Consider this one 1 of those 8. This is half-day story of Day 1.

In this journey. I rode a Jawa 42.
As far as a motorcycle trip from Dharchula to Lipulekh Pass, on Kailash Mansarovar road is concerned, I suggest you ride something that is quick and nimble. For me, for example, my Jawa 42 was a perfect choice. Its lightweight body, powered by a 300cc and a 28 N.m @5000 rpm of torque generated enough power to easily climb uphill.
We had other motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Classic 350 (that I've always found too bulkier and heavier for such terrains, including Ladakh and Spiti Valley), a Hero XPulse and a Royal Enfield Himalayan on Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Marg Road, and I found my Jawa 42 doing better than all of them thanks to its great power output.
Having said that, as long as your motorcycle has a great power output and is not too heavy, given its engine size, you should do good on those roads. It's not necessary to have a big engine (a 300 cc should do fine) but have enough torque to be able to pull you through.

Beautiful off road trip on Lipulekh route.congrats on making the video on your trip.we hope very soon the Lipulekh road will be completed and pilgrims and tourists can travel in to Tibet and reach Mt.kailash with their own bike and car and that will make the trip very cheap.The ordinary citizen of our country should be able to visit Mt.Kailash.Modi govt.is giving top priority for completing the above road.

Great Trip. But just a FYI.. Darchula, Lipulekh are disputed region between Nepal and India. (Yes .. Yes.. India has land dispute with Nepal too.. dont be surprise). Just want to put that in note. But what an experience u guys had..

You guys are too much 🤣🤣 ask your self how many roads were build by nepal on lipulek ?? Or how much trade was generated by that small pass ?? Or the available natural resources on that land which will make nepal rich 😆nothing !! They just want that pass because it's important for india against Chinese & Chinese dad gave oli the reason to start a conflict 😑 from last few years india & nepal came on common settlement on long border which they share we don't had issue because borders are open & no one is behind occupying each other's lands If india want to extend its border as india is smaller than nepal in size india would have tried on all borders but no it got issue on small pass 🤣🤣 grow up there are many posts on border which agreed as per Nepal's request instead of mine mine work on development first on the border land which are with you

These roads and surely not suitable for pulser. RE Himaliyan looks very ideal choice for such rides with its good front suspension and mono shock at rear.
