@@jordandennis6794 Not when you have strict/unrealistic dead lines. Remember that said-animators have to eat, sleep, bathe, etc. They have lives outside of their job. If a character/entity takes too much time to animate/draw for just a few frames, they will either A) Not animate the character frequently (or at all). Or B) Take extra time/care into the intricate details, resulting in disturbed deadlines.

Actually Freiza created the first 3 forms as "safety switch" to reduce his godlike powers in his original form making it more controllable. So in that sense he went through excruciating pain to make himself weaker as he never had any desire or need to become more powerful.

This is the *scariest* transformation for me. Not because of the tension. Not because of his sheer power. Because of the transformation itself. Its...grotesque. Its like he's not screaming like all the other transformations, its like he's in pain. Horrible, agonizing pain. His body contorts and bends in ways that are just... *wrong* . It just terrifies me.

New heads don't understand how terrifying this shit was back when this was on tv with no way of knowing what was gonna happen next. I used to be distracted in 2nd grade because I was scared that Frieza was gonna kill all of them, I thought Piccolo with the power up was gonna be enough. Even Recoome was scary, the way he did Gohan 😂

I remember the first time I saw Frieza fighting on TV. He was terrifying especially as he went through the transformations. His final transformation had something of an impact on me, I expected something bigger and more monstrous and yet he turned into a smaller more human form that was far more powerful. I assume that was the creator's goal, to subvert that expectation. Ever since then, I have been happier with individuals who transform in a similar way as opposed to becoming bigger and more deformed (the former rather than the latter). Part of this is pragmatism because one disadvantage of being bigger is that you make an easier target to hit, part of it is a personal preference.

They did great voicing frieza, the way he kind of babbles and screams in pain while he transforms really helps it go the extra mile and helps to emphasize just how terrifying frieza is.😱😱😱😱🤩

I mean seriously, if I’m fighting a big guy who’s already pretty intimidating, and then he grows spikes on his back, his head elongates and grows spikes, and even grows these crazy shoulder plates from his body, I’d probably be too shocked to really do much but watch.

I always wondered, does Frieza choose what he looks like or are these "natural" to him? and more so, when transforming to his final form, he breaks out of his shell, so to speak... so when he wants to power down from final form to 3rd form, does he have to regrow that shell and turn ugly again?

Yeah. we know in hindsight transforming creates one hell of a ki barrier (as Trunks found out against Cell), but there's no way Piccolo could know that. At least ATTEMPT to stop it instead of standing there staring like a lobotomized evolutionary dead end.

Dominic's Creative Films it’s not a matter of fighting fair, it’s a matter of them not having a chance to do anything. The anime really likes playing up the transformations, and so they extend them to get more reaction shots and the such. However in reality Frieza transformations only take a few seconds in canon. None of the fighters would have had the chance to charge any of their best attacks in just a measly few seconds.

It's not instantaneous. And even the transformation itself was instantaneous, he already announced he was gonna transform and you can see there was actually time where he's about to transform and the Z Fighters are all reacting meaning they can still do something in that moment, but choose not to. But no, it's not instantaneous, lol. As Frieza says, "What do you think? Was it worth the wait?"

​@@GrubKiller436 They're almost certainly referring to how these things are shown in the manga, which is the original interpretation. The manga tends to be a lot faster paced so everything that is drawn out in the anime is usually instantaneous in the manga. Another good example is Nappa killing Piccolo; the anime takes its time whereas the manga shows it being a last minute move.

What the f*** are you idiots talking about, Freiza literally says to Piccolo in this video that he's "already transformed once before he arrived" 0:12 Before this video, Freiza is seen wearing his armour and buffs out of it, not a transformation, still in his 1st form, he just increased his power. if you think about it, each of freiza's four forms, mimics the sayin forms, the first two forms are fairly similar looking with the third form resembling ss3 with the long head/hair, and even freiza's final form is accurate(muscular, slim, uses different colors than the other forms, and is a massive power boost)

I think the trope is, "Transformation is a free action" in most cases. That said, and I don't think that them trying to attack Freiza while he's transforming would've worked: consider how strong he is already compared to the fighters present; if they tried to attack him, it probably wouldn't work, especially when you remember that his first 3 forms we get to see are not his original self, and were meant to restrict his power rather than enhance it. At this point in the series, Freiza was considered to be one of the most powerful beings in the known universe, and his battles with Vegeta, Krillin, Gohan and Piccolo are more about driving into their heads hoe hopeless trying to fight him is because of just how much more powerful he is than they are

In order to do that you need two things to happen 1) Be brave enough to approach this guy while he's doing something you don't even understand 2) Not be so brave that you're gonna let this guy transform just to see how strong you are. That's a very thin parameter that few Dragon Ball characters meet.

This is my favorite transformation of frieza he looks awesome and scary af. Not gonna lie though it looks like it was kinda painful for him to transform into this form I mean dudes head literally was elongated and made crunching and breaking noises lol but still the end result was very impressive

First Form Frieza- high pitch voice. Second form- slightly deeper. Third form- base in his voice. Fourth form- gets shorter in height, high pitch voice again but power skyrockets.

Don't forget that his fourth form is also the one he was born in, making it his original form. At this point in the series, all 3 of his other forms are designed to suppress his full power rather than make him stronger

Yeah.. this Thrid transformation was quite underrated

It's definitely his most unique form as well. He spent a shorter time in this form than any of his others, but it's still very memorable for how out there and ugly it is compared to his other forms

I can see why he didn't transform so much, that head transformation looks painful as shit. And it's animated so well!

When i was child seeing frieza transformed,i was really impressed. Thats why if trasnforming thing become unspecial nowdays, but before it was really cool. Dbz is best !!!!!

The thing that I like about Kai/Chris Ayres's 2nd form Frieza voice is that he actually sounds more like 1st and final form Frieza compared to Z/Linda Young's Frieza.
