They're not, that's why breeders are taking them out as soon as they're big enough to be raised in their own tank in stead of waiting for the fish to release them on their own, which in nature is common to result in the parent fish to die from starvation.

@@malinbergvall Experienced females can eat while having babies in their mouths. They slurp it all over them. I've seen it happen to my Pseudocrenilabrus as well.

FYI: Mama ciclids won't eat when they're guarding their youngsters and they'll get skinny. Separating them will help the mama fish get back in shape and she can have a longer life span. And mama fish aren't attached to the babies by all means, they won't feel sad about it.

Не вздулся, просто это не полностью сформировался из икры малек. Рано его отобрали у матери. Цихлиды откладывают на камень икру,самец оплодотворяет и самочка собирает ее в ротик, начинает ее носить, совершая такие пережевывающие движения - обогащая икру кислородом. часть икринок погибает и разлагается, самочка ее глотает, таким образом происходит хоть какое-то питание. Носит долго,пока малечки не станут маленькими копиями родителей. Один помет правильно отобрали, а другой поторопились.

@Game Beast Yeah, the mother lays the eggs and then Incubates them in her mouth until they are old enough to swim on their own. The mother will stay with the fry for the first two weeks after being released and let them come back in her mouth if they feel threatened.

Не вздулся, просто это не полностью сформировался из икры малек. Рано его отобрали у матери. Цихлиды откладывают на камень икру,самец оплодотворяет и самочка собирает ее в ротик, начинает ее носить, совершая такие пережевывающие движения - обогащая икру кислородом. часть икринок погибает и разлагается, самочка ее глотает, таким образом происходит хоть какое-то питание. Носит долго,пока малечки не станут маленькими копиями родителей. Один помет правильно отобрали, а другой поторопились.

@Game Beast Yeah, the mother lays the eggs and then Incubates them in her mouth until they are old enough to swim on their own. The mother will stay with the fry for the first two weeks after being released and let them come back in her mouth if they feel threatened.
